Özet
Bu araştırma, çoklu zekâ destekli işbirlikçi öğrenme aktivitelerinin kelime öğrenimi üzerindeki etkililiğini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamıştır.Çalışma, her biri 24 öğrenciden oluşan deney ve kontrol grup olmak üzere iki grup üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Bu öğrenciler, Amasya Üniversitesi'nde Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi İngilizce hazırlık sınıfı öğrencileridir. Araştırmanın başlangıcından önce, deneklere öntest uygulanmıştır. Öntest sonuçları kontrol ve deney grupları arasında önemli bir fark olmadığını göstermiştir. Araştırma boyunca, deney grubuna çoklu zekâ destekli işbirlikçi öğrenme aktiviteleri aracılığıyla kelime öğretilirken kontrol gubuna geleneksel yöntemle kelime öğretimi yapılmıştır.Grupların öntest ve sontest sonuçlarının analizi çoklu zekâ teorisi destekli işbirlikçi öğrenme aktivitelerinin deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kelime öğrenimleri üzerinde olumlu bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.Birinci bölümde, problem durumu, çalışmanın amacı ve önemi tanıtılmıştır. Arastırma sorusu, varsayımlar ve sınırlılıklar da aynı bölümde sunulmuştur.İkinci bölümde, kelime, kelimenin yabancı dil sınıflarındaki rolü ve işbirlikçi öğrenme hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.Üçüncü bölüm çoklu zekâ teorisi ile ilgili detaylı bilgi verilmiştir.Dördüncü bölümde çalışmanın metodu anlatılmıştır.Beşinci bölümde çalışmanın deneysel sonuçları ile öntest sontest sonuçlarını kapsamaktadır.Son bölümde ise sonuç, tartışma, bulgular ve öneriler ve çalışmanın özeti detaylı olarak anlatılmıştır.ANAHTAR KELİMELER: Kelime öğrenimi, kelime öğretimi, işbirlikçi öğrenme, çoklu zekâ teorisi

This study sought to reveal the effects of Cooperative Learning Activities based on Multiple Intelligences Theory on vocabulary learning in EFL classes. This study was carried out on two groups ? experimental and control groups- each of which consists of 24 students. The students were preparatory class students at the faculty of Art and Science in Amasya University. Prior to the onset of the research, a pretest was administered to the subjects. The results of the pre-test revealed that there was not significant difference between the control and the experimental group. Throughout the study, the experimental group was taught vocabulary through cooperative learning activities based on Multiple Intelligences Theory and the control group was taught through traditional methods.The comparison of the pre-test and the post-test scores of the two groups revealed that there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in favour of the experimental group. In other words, the cooperative learning activities based on MIT have a positive influence on the students? vocabulary learning in the experimental group.The first chapter introduces the background of the study, the statement of the problem, the purpose and significance of the study. The research question, assumptions and limitations are also presented in the same chapter.The second chapter -The Review of Literature- introduces the term of vocabulary, the role of vocabulary in EFL classes, an overview of Cooperative Learning in EFL classes. The third chapter introduces the detailed information about Multiple Intelligences Theory. The fourth chapter introduces the method of the study. The fifth chapter gives information about the data analysis of the study. In the last chapter, conclusion, discussion, pedagogical implications and suggestions for further study and the summary of the study are explained in detail.KEY WORDS: vocabulary learning, vocabulary teaching, cooperative learning, multiple intelligences theory
