Özet
İslam düşüncesinin en önemli simalarından biri olan Gazâlinin hayatını hakîkat arayışı olarak özetleyebiliriz. Araştırmamızın konusu ?Gazâli'ye göre akıl¬¬-iman ilişkisi? adını taşımaktadır. Biz bu çalışmamızda, Gazâli'ye göre akıl, iman ve bu iki kavram arasındaki etkileşimi ele aldık. Akıl kavramının analizi tezin birinci bölümünü teşkil etmektedir. İman başlığı altında ikinci bölümde, Gazâli'ye göre imanın tanımı mahiyeti ve mertebeleri ele alındı. Üçüncü bölümde akıl iman etkileşimi ele alındı. Burada aklın imanın oluşum sürecindeki yeri ve aklın değerinin tespitinde imanın rolü üzerinde duruldu.Gazâli akla önem veren bir düşünürdür. Ancak o aklı kalp ruh ve nefs kavramlarıyla birlikte ele alır ve bunları çoğu zaman birbirinin yerine kullanır. Gazali'ye göre kalp burada imanın konusu olan metafizik âleme geçişin merkezî unsuru olarak kabul edilir. Gazâli'ye göre asıl arzulanan ve hakîkatin son merhalesi olarak kabul edilen en yüksek iman derecesi âriflerin imanıdır. Ancak bu mertebe sadece çalışılarak elde edilebilecek bir yapıda değildir. Burada asıl belirleyici olan ilâhi hidayet unsurudur.

We could summaries the life of Al-Ghazali (Algazel) as ?Search for the truth? who was considered one of the significant personalities of Islamic Thought. The main subject of this research is titled as ?The Association of Mind and Faith?. Within this study I have focused on mind, faith and interaction in between the both concepts. The first part of the study composes the analyses of the concept of mind. Through the second part under the title of Faith, Al-Ghazali?s (Algazel?s) approach for the definition of faith, along with its nature, characteristics, levels and degrees were covered. In the third part, the association of mind and faith were focused on underlining the position of the mind during the origination of the faith and the role of the Faith during the evaluation of the mind.Al-Ghazali (Algazel) is a philosopher that emphasis on the mind. Furthermore he considered the concept of mind along with the concepts of heart, Sole and Inner-Self and he used these concepts instead of each other. According to Al-Ggazali (Algazel) the heart here is considered as the central element of transition to the metaphysical state that is the subject of the faith. Up to Al-Ghazali (Algazel) the highest degree of the faith is the faith of the wise and the enlightened ones which is considered the final level of the truth and the most desired. However this level is not reachable by the efforts alone. The main determining element here is the Godly enlightenment and guidance.
