Green Forage Yield: There were statistical ly significant differences in different inter and intra row spacings and in general. an increase irv inter and intra row spacing resulted in decrease in green forage yield. The highest green forage yield was obtained from 30 cm inter row spacing (1198 kg/da) and, the lowest one was obtained in 110 cm inter row spacing (596 kg/da). These are the figures determined for the first cut of alfalfa at 10 percent flowering time. After the seed harvest, three extra cuttings were also performed but the figures were not included in the analysis. With respect to intra row spacings the highest yield (1086 kg/da) was obtained from no thinning applicatior and the lowest yield (729.3 kg/da) was obtained from 60 cnji intra row spacing. j i 3. Hay Yield: There were statistically significant differences in hay yields for different inter and intra row spacings as it happened in green forage. Increasing the inter and intra row spacings lowered the hay yield. The highest hay yield was obtained in 30 cm inter row spacing (250.6 kg/da) and the lowest one was obtained in 110 cm inter row spacing (131.2 kg/da).
