Kategorik değişkenler sağlık bilimleri alanında sıkça kullanılmaktadır. Değişken sayısı ve buna bağlı olarak alt kategorilerinin sayısı arttıkça aralarındaki ilişkiyi yorumlamak da aynı oranda zorlaşmaktadır. Kategorik verilerin değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan yöntemler, büyük uyum tablolarının değerlendirilmesinde yetersiz kalmaktadır. Categorical data is frequently used in the fields of medical sciences. As variable number and its sub-categories increases, it becomes difficult to interpret the relation between them. The methods used in the evaluation of categorical data are insufficient in the evaluation of the large contingency tables. That?s why; the relationship between the variables is examined with using contingency tables and ?Multiple Correspondence Analysis? which provides graphical display.Multiple Correspondence Analysis is a method used to determine the relationship between sub-categories of the variables displayed in the form of r*c*m in various crossed tables.In the research, it is intended to examinethe patients of Tuberculosis, who are registered in the Tuberculosis Dispensaries in Eastern Black Sea provinces, with the method of Multiple Correspondence Analysis.1593 patients with VSDs registered in the database of Eastern Black Sea provinces were evaluated with the help of the gatheredTuberculosis Control Department (Ministry of Health) data for 2007-2009. The information is acquired about the individuals? ages, sexualities, VSDs records, case definitions, infected organs, examined materials and drug resistance. % 67.79 (n=1080) of 1593 patients are male and % 32.20 of them are female. The average age is 42.50 and the standard deviation according to the age distribution is 19.23. The patients are examined in six age group categories.The VSDs are classified into twelve categories on the basis of center. These centers are Trabzon, Rize, Bayburt, Giresun, Artvin, Gümüşhane, Akçaabat, Vakfıkebir, Of, Bulancak and Şebinkarahisar.The research supports the national data related to the observation of Tuberculosis occurrence more often in the lungs of the male and younger people. In addition, it is determined that compared to the other provinces, Trabzon plays an important role in the treatment of Tuberculosis.
