Özet
Bu araştırmada, 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında ortaya çıkan Beden ve Performans Sanat disiplinleri bağlamında; sanat nesnesi olarak bedenin kullanılması ve bu kapsamda çalışan sanatçıların eylemleriyle-performanslarıyla, sanat ve beden ilişkisi güncel alandaki yeni çalışmalarla desteklenerek incelenmiştir. Araştırma dört ana başlıktan oluşmaktadır. Birinci başlık, tezin amacı, önemi ve araştırmanın kapsamı hakkındaki bilgileri;“sanat nesnesi olarak beden”kavramından yola çıkarak vermektedir. İkinci başlıkta araştırmanın dayanağı tarihsel ve kuramsal temellere oturtulmuş, kavramsal sanat sürecinden günümüze,“sanat ve beden ilişkisi”bağlamında açıklanmıştır. Modernizmin başlangıcından günümüze kadar olan bu süreç içinde modernite ve postmodernite kavramlarının beden ile olan ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Aydınlanma döneminin amaçlarına değinilerek, bu süreçteki düşünürler, felsefeciler ve postmodern tutumu konu alan düşünürler tarafından yapılan eleştirilere de yer verilmiştir. Modern toplumda bedenin konumu, çevresi ile ilişkisi ve birey üzerindeki etkileri incelenirken; sanatçı örnekleriyle birlikte, bu alan içerisindeki kuramcıların beden üzerine yaptığı araştırmalarına başvurulmuştur. Bunların yanı sıra, günümüz sanatında bedenin konumu da bu bölümde ele alınmıştır. Aynı bölümde, bedenin doğrudan kullanıldığı; Happenings (Oluşumlar), Aksiyon (Eylem), Body Art (Beden Sanatı), Performans (Gösteri Sanatı) gibi sanat hareketlerine yer verilmiş, bu sanat hareketleri üzerinden güncel sanat bağlamındaki örnekleri incelenmiştir. Seçilen örnekler değerlendirilirken, güncel sanat analizlerinden ve genel olarak 'güncel' sanatta kullanılan beden nesnesi yaklaşımlarından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmacının çalışmaları ve bu çalışmaların analizlerine ise güncel sanat bağlamında yer verilmiştir.

This study examines into use of the body as an art object and the art and body relationship with the actions-performance of artists in this field within the scope of the Body and Performance Art disciplines that emerged in the second half of the 20th century as supported with recent studies in the current state. This study is comprised of four main headings. The first heading provides information about the purpose and importance of the thesis and the scope of research on the basis of the concept of“body as an art object”. Under the second heading, the basis of the research is provided on historical and theoretical grounds and explained within the scope of“art and body relationship”since the conceptual art process until today. The relationship of the concepts of modernity and post-modernity with the body is examined in this period starting from the beginning of modernism until today. The purposes of the age of enlightenment are addressed and criticism by thinkers, philosophers and researchers about the post-modern approach is provided. While the position of the body in modern society, its relationship with its environment and its effects on the individual are investigated and the studies of theorists on the body are referred to with examples to artists. On the other hand, the position of the body in today's art is also discussed in this section. The same section gives place to various art movements where the body is directly used such as Happenings, Action, Body Art and Performance and examples to current art are examined over these art movements. The current art analyses and generally the body object used in the“current”art are utilized to evaluate the selected examples. Studies of the researcher and analyses of these studies take place within the scope of the current art.
