In assessing the acceptability of the influence of intercultural learning on the sojourners' worldmindedness and global awareness, the present study investigates the differences between people with previous intercultural learning experiences and those who have not had such experiences, in perceiving world problems and defining possible solutions to them. 94 Ss (53 M, 41 F, from 64 countries) who work in the field of intercultural education/exchanges, and with previous intercultural learning experiences were used as the research group (AFS), and they were matched to some degree with 82 Ss (40 M, 42 F, from Turkey) who were graduate students--in Bogazi~i University (BU) through convenient sampling. A questionnaire consisting of 6 open-ended questions was used, in which Ss were asked to identify, in their opinion, the two most important problems their home country (HP), the world (WP), and the world youth were facing. Three different global awareness scales (HP-WP, HP-YP, and WP-YP) were employed, and the global awareness scores for each scale were derived from Ss' pairedresponses to the HP, WP, and YP questions in the research questionnaire.
