With the advance in the agricultural sector, the fertilizer sector is growing as well. But the increasing demand for fertilizers and the development of the fertilizer sector in Turkey brings up the wastewater problem of the fertilizer industry. AS a considerable amount of the production consists of nitrogen based fertilizers, the wastewaters contain high levels of ammonium-N and nitrate-No The properties of the wastewater produced by the fertilizer industry and the treatment methods have been investigated and it has been found that biological treatment is the suitable treatment method for Turkey
