In this thesis, the complex and popular issue of Cyprus is analyzed in a critical way. First the background and the origins of the problem is reviewed. The research is basically on the intercommunal talks on Cyprus which have been continuing since 1975. The progress and failure of the negotiations, views and attitudes of both communities, interests of the third parties are analyzed. Throughout this dissertation, the main argument is that Cyprus Question should be settled through intercommunal talks under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General and the continuation of the present status quo can not be considered as a solution. At the end, probable solutions to the Cyprus Question are analyzed in a critical way by examining the pros and cons of the alternatives. And it is stressed that it is high time that the Cyprus problem be resolved.
