Özet

Bu araştırmada mental aritmetik eğitiminin 5 yaş çocuklarının görsel algı gelişimlerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulaması, Tarım Bakanlığı Kreş ve Gündüz Bakım Evi'nde okul öncesi öğrenimini gören 5 yaş grubu öğrencileri üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada ölçme aracı olarak Frostig Görsel Algı Testi kullanılmıştır. Yansız olarak seçilen kontrol ve deney gruplarına ön test olarak Frostig Görsel Algı testi uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra kontrol grubu normal eğitimine devam ederken deney grubuna normal eğitim müfredatına ek olarak mental aritmetik eğitim programı uygulanmıştır. Sürecin sonunda deney ve kontrol grubuna son test olarak Frostig Görsel Algı testi tekrar uygulanmıştır. Test sonucunda elde edilen istatistiksel verilerin çözümlemeleri SPSS Version 22.0 istatistik programı ile yapılmıştır. Mann Whitney U ve Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ön test ve son test arasındaki farkları belirlemek için kullanılmıştır. Deney grubundan 5 kişilik bir öğrenci grubu ve deney grubu öğretmenleri ile mental aritmetik eğitimi sonunda görüşme yapılmıştır. Görüşmeden elde edilen nitel veriler içerik çözümlemesi ve tematik kodlama yapılarak örgütlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirildiğinde; test genelinde alınan puana göre iki grubun son testleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığı, son test toplam puanlarının sıra ortalamasına bakıldığında ise kontrol grubunun puanının deney grubu puanına göre düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Deney grubu ön test ve son test sonuçları arasında ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşlerine göre, mental aritmetik eğitiminin matematiği sevdirdiği, çocuklar üzerinde farkındalık etkisini artırdığı, dikkat algısının artmasına yardımcı olduğu, renk ve şekil algısında gelişim sağladığı yönünde sonuçlar çıkmıştır.

In this research ; the affect of the mental arithmetic education over 5-year-old children's visual perception improvement has been studied. The application of the research was performed in Ministry of Agriculture Kindergarten and Day Care Center over 5-year-old children who have been receiving pre-school education. In the research Frostig Test of Visual Perception has been used as an assessment scale. Frostig Test of Visual Perception was applicated to the control and experimental groups as preliminary test whom was chosen objectively. Afterwards while control group was continuing routine education, mental arithmetic educational program was applicated to experimental group in addition to routine educational program. At the end of the process Frostig Test of Visual Perception was reapplicated to the control and experimental groups as an ultimate test. The analysis of the statistical data that had been attained at the end of test was performed via SPSS Version 22.0 statistic program. Mann Whitney U ve Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test used by defined pre test and ultimate test differences. An interview was made with a group of 5 students who existed in experimental group and the instructors of the experimental group. Qualitative data that had been attained from the interview was organized by using content analysis and thematic encoding. When the conclusions attained in the research are evaluated, it is conceived that; statistically there is no significant difference between ultimate tests of two grops in accordance with score that was taken during the test and when the range average of the ultimate test total scores is considered the score of control group is less than the score of the experimental group. A statistically significant difference has been figured out between the conclusions of preliminary and ultimate tests which belong to control group. According to instructor and student opinions, it is conceived that mental arithmetic endears mathematics, increases impression of withitness, assists with increase of care perception and improves perception on colour and shape.
