Özet
Bu araştırmada, Almanya, Finlandiya, İngiltere ve Kanada'da müzik öğretmeni olabilmek için tamamlanması gereken tüm lisans, lisansüstü ve sertifika programları incelenmiş ve Türkiye'de müzik öğretmenliği lisans programları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmada, programların kabul koşulları, giriş yetenek sınavları, müzik öğretmenliği lisans programları, zorunlu müzik öğretmenliği lisansüstü programları ve zorunlu müzik öğretmenliği sertifika programları; toplam süre, toplam kredi sayıları ve ders alanları yönünden incelenmiş ve veriler tablolaştırılmıştır. Toplanan veriler ile ilişki kurmak için, seçilen ülkelerdeki zorunlu eğitim sistemleri ve öğretmen yetiştirme programları ile ilgili bilgilere de yer verilmiştir. Araştırmada, karşılaştırmalı bir program analizi çalışması sonunda Almanya, Finlandiya, İngiltere, Kanada ve Türkiye'deki müzik öğretmeni yetiştirme programlarının benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya konulmuş ve bu bilgiler tablolaştırılarak yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma, karşılaştırmalı bir eğitim araştırması olup, nitel bir araştırmadır. Veri analizi ile elde edilen bulguların analizi sırasında sayısal verilerden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma ile ilgili verilere ulaşmak için ilgili tez, makale ve kitaplar incelenmiş, üniversitelerin resmi internet sitelerinden yararlanılmış, araştırma ziyaretlerinde bulunulmuş ve mülakatlar yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, Almanya'dan Hannover Üniversitesi, Finlandiya'dan Sibelius Akademi, Kanada'dan Toronto Üniversitesi müzik öğretmenliği lisans programları ve İngiltere'den Leeds Üniversitesi müzik lisans programı incelenmiş ve Türkiye'deki müzik öğretmenliği lisans programı ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre yorumlar yapılmış ve öneriler getirilmiştir. Türkiye'deki müzik öğretmenliği lisans programlarının giriş şartları, yetenek sınavları, program süreleri ve program içeriğiyle ilgili yeniden yapılanmaya gidilmesi gerekliliği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. In this study, the undergraduate, post-graduate and certificate programmes for becoming a music teacher in Germany, Finland, England and Canada are examined and compared with the undergraduate music teacher education programmes in Turkey. The present thesis explores the eligibility criteria for the aforementioned programmes, aptitude tests, music teacher education undergraduate programmes, compulsory music teacher education post-graduate programmes and compulsory music teacher certificate programmes by examining the duration of the programmes, total credits required for the completion of the programmes and the content of the programmes in general. Tables are used for the reflection of the data collected throughout the study. In order to communicate with the collected data, a general overview of the compulsory education systems and teacher education programmes in selected countries are also provided as background information. This study is a comparative programme analysis of Germany, Finland, England, Canada, and Turkey which aims to identify the similarities and differences between these countries' music teacher education programmes. The data analysis is done with the help of numerous tables prepared by the researcher himself. The present thesis is a qualitative study which aims to contribute to the wider field of comparative education studies. The findings are analysed with the help of numerical data as well. For a broader literature, related thesis, journals and books are reviewed. The official web sites of the universities are used besides the actual field work at the universities under scrutiny where the interviews were also held. In this study, the universities are selected as Hannover University from Germany, Sibelius Academy from Finland, Music Teacher Education Programme of University of Toronto in Canada and Undergraduate Music Programme of University of Leeds in England and they are compared with undergraduate music teacher education programmes in Turkey. Based on the findings certain conclusions are drawn and suggestions are made. This study concludes that a concrete reconsideration is required for the entrance requirements, aptitude tests, the duration of the programmes, and the content of the undergraduate music teacher education programmes in Turkey.
