Özet
Bu araştırmada; ortaokul 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi“ Ekonomi ve Sosyal Hayat'' ünitesinde gezi gözlem ve inceleme yönteminin öğrenci başarısı ve tutumuna etkisini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada ”Ön Test-Son Test Kontrol Gruplu Desen" tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılı ikinci yarıyılında Balıkesir ili, Karesi ilçesi Çiğdem Batubey Ortaokulu'nda öğrenim gören 7/F ve 7/H şubelerindeki öğrenciler üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Özellikleri bakımından her iki grubun denk olduğu, deney (29) ve kontrol (29) gruplarından toplam 58 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak 20 sorudan oluşan başarı testi ve 20 maddeden oluşan tutum ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak kullanılmıştır. Uygulama araştırmacı tarafından kontrol grubuna geleneksel yöntemlerle, deney grubuna ise gezi gözlem ve inceleme yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubuna tezin konusuna ilişkin uygulama olarak Zağnos Paşa Cami, Kızılay Vakfı Balıkesir Şubesi ve Balıkesir Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü'ne gezi düzenlenmiştir. Veri toplama araçlarından elde edilen veriler; SPSS programında yer alan bağımlı ve bağımsız gruplar için t-testi analizleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Gezi gözlem ve inceleme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu ile geleneksel yöntemlerin uygulandığı kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin ön test başarı ve tutum puanlarında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır. Son test başarı ve tutum puanlarında ise deney grubunun lehine anlamlı bir fark vardır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda gezi gözlem ve inceleme yönteminin 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi Ekonomi ve Sosyal Hayat ünitesi kapsamında, uygulanabilir bir yöntem olduğu görülmüştür.

In this study, the impact of the travel observe and investigate method, which is covered in unit“Economic and Social Life”of social studies class, on the student performance and attitude, is studied. In the study,“Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design”is chosen. It is conducted on the students attending the 7/F and 7/H classes of Cigdem Batubey Middle School, Karesi, Balikesir, over the course of Spring 2015. It is carried out on a sample of 58 students divided into a control and a trial group, each of 29 people, and which are characteristically equivalent. The tools for pre and posttest data collection are a performance test of 20 items, and an attitude test of 20 items. The treatment group is trained with the travel observe and investigate method, while the control group is taught with traditional teaching methods. The treatment group is taken to sightsee the Zagnos Pasa Mosque, Kizilay Foundation Balikesir Branch, and Balikesir District Office of Foundations Directorate General. The collected data is analyzed using the t-tests for dependent and independent groups, in SPSS. No statistically significant difference is observed between the two groups in the pretest scores. However, a significant difference, in favor of the treatment group, is found in the posttest scores. As the main result of the study, it is seen that the travel observe and investigate method can be taught in the Economic and Social Life unit of the 7th grade social studies class.
