This study aims to reach on the motivation and job satisfaction level of employees in hotels in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, and the main elements which influence their motivation level and job satisfaction. Therefore, it provides recommendations for the hotels in Bournemouth to improve their Human Resources Management accomplishments. The other important objective of this research is to understand major human resource management ideas, and practice the theories related to motivation and job satisfaction on the real case. As a summary, the summary of the dissertation is below: Introduction In this chapter, background information about the research which gives little knowledge about UK tourism and hospitality sector has been mentioned. After that, a brief history of Bournemouth, its economy and tourism sides, and several tourism statistics have been given in order to see the picture clearly. Apart from these, the reasons for choosing the subject, aims and objectives of the study, and research methodology have been explained briefly. All in all, a summary of the next chapters has been stressed outline of the dissertation. Literature Review That chapter mainly focussed on two parts which are motivation and job satisfaction. Definitions of work motivation have been tried to explain by different authors. Following this, four essential motivation theories have been searched and written. Then, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation has been pointed out and the difference between them was mentioned. Four motivation factors also were examined. After that, definition of job satisfaction, the elements affecting job satisfaction and three significant job satisfaction theories have been discussed critically by the researcher. Finally, several previous studies have been showed as examples in order to discuss the main findings of this case study. IV Research Methodology Quantitative method was used in this research to achieve aims and objectives. The information was collected through survey questionnaires. Hotels in Bournemouth were selected as a sample, and 124 employees from different departments of hotels in Bournemouth filled the surveys. Research Findings and Analysis The results were taken from the surveys have been analyzed in this chapter. Every single factor of the questionnaire has been trying to discuss the best way. Firstly, demographic and job information about employee have been examined. Following this, 3 different sections of motivation part have been deliberate. Then, the results of job satisfaction were talking. All these were tried to link the theories and previous researches which were explained in the literature review chapter. Conclusion In that study, 'interesting work', 'good salary', 'having enough tools to do the job well', and 'job security' were found the most important determinants as motivating factors. On the other hand, the respondents ranked 'working hours' and 'being happy to work in their companies' as crucial job satisfaction factors. It is found that the present motivation level and job satisfaction level of staff in Bournemouth is high. They look satisfied with the management strategies.
