This thesis is divided into four main chapters: the first chapter is concerned with three different views of laws of nature (regularity theory, nomic necessitation and dispositional essentialism). The second chapter will deal with Lewis's best system analysis and how ceteris paribus laws find a place in the system. The third chapter relates to Armstrong's view of nomic necessitation regarding laws with exceptions hold. The final chapter is about Bird's dispositional essentialism and ceteris paribus laws. Ceteris paribus laws can be allowed by this view. As we can see, except for the first section, we are investigating ceteris paribus laws throughout the thesis. The main aim of this thesis, therefore, is very clear: whether ceteris paribus laws can stand in any view.
