Özet
Eğitim, insanın öğrenme, öğretme, merak etme gibi istek ve ihtiyaçlarından meydana gelerek bireysel ve toplumsal alanda önemli bir yere sahip olmuştur. Hayat boyu bilgiyi ve gerçeği arama çabası olan felsefenin eğitimle tartışmasız olan ilişkisi, eğitime doğası, amacı, imkânı ve süreci hakkında yol göstererek, felsefi akımlarla da disiplin ve düşünce yöntemi sağlar. Bu çalışmada, eğitim ve felsefe ilişkisinden yola çıkarak eğitim felsefesinin eğitime yön veren felsefi akımlarını ve eğitim modellerini inceledik. Bu akımlardan bağımsız olamayacağını düşündüğümüz liberal eğitim anlayışını ele aldık. İlk önce siyasi bir terim olarak ortaya çıkan liberalizmin tarihsel süreç içerisindeki gelişimi, ilkeleri ve türlerini ortaya koyarak, eğitim alanında da büyük bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermeye çalıştık. Liberal eğitimin ne olduğunu ve amacını daha iyi anlatabilmek adına, liberal eğitimi farklı düşünürlerin bakış açılarından değerlendirdik. Bu düşünürler; faydacı, pratik ve ferdiyetçi eğitim anlayışı ile John Locke, demokratik okul anlayışı ile John Dewey, özgür ve kişisel eğitim anlayışı ile Murray Newton Rothbard, insanlığın yeşertilmesi düşüncesi ile Marta Craven Nussbaum ve son olarak iyi ve faziletli insan yetiştirmek anlayışı ile Alparslan Açıkgenç'tir. Bu düşünürlerin fikirleri doğrultusunda liberal eğitimin mutlak bir tanımının yapılmasının zor olduğunu göstererek felsefi akımlar ile bağlantısını kurmaya çalıştık. Son olarak liberal eğitimden ne anladığımızı ve düşüncelerimizi değerlendirdik.

Education has an important place in individual and social area including the meet of the need and wish about learning, teaching and curiosity. Unquestionable relationship between education and philosophy which has great effort to look for information and the truth during the whole life provide discipline and the method of thought by philosophical movement as well by guiding education about its character, target, opportunity and process. İn this study, we examined the philosophical movement which are directing the educaton of philosopyh of education and educational model through relationship between education and philosophy. We have thought that this is not an independent subject from concept of liberal education. That's the main reason we chose liberal education. First of all we have decided that we need to focused on development in the historical process of liberalism emerged as a political term, we tried to emphasize importance of historical point of liberalism and its necessities and principles on education. İn order to better understand what the purpose of a liberal education is, firstly we defined the liberal education than we evaluated the perspectives of different thinkers on this very subject. These thinkers; utilitarian, John Locke practical and individualistic approach to education, John Dewey, democratic school understanding, free and personal training concept of Murray Newton Rothbard, recreation of humanity Marta Craven Nussbaum with germinated the idea and train finally good and virtuous people are Alparslan Açıkgenç with understanding. This is in line with the ideas of liberal education is hard to think of an absolute definition and tried to establish a link with the philosophical movements of liberal education. Finally, we have evaluated our thoughts and understand what liberal education is.
