-ı- Summary of the Study, Privatization which has always been in the fore ground of our country's ecomomic programmes were put in to effect in some Public Enterprices (PS's). This application has carried the following questions to the agenda with itself: Are the goals attained in the privatized establishments; in other words, is there any improvement in the efficiency more than that in the period before privatization? Moreover, does the extent of this improvement justify the privatization which has carried many questions with itself? As a result, is the privatization a solution? In this study, I tried to answer the aforementioned questions depending on the data of the following businesses. In the industries dependant on the stone and soil to which the privatization was applied. So the data about the period between 1932-1992 were compared using some indexes of these businesses in the periods before and after the privatization. The businesses which are in the scope of this study are also follows: Turkish Joint Stock Corporations of Afyon, Ankara and Balıkesir Cement Industry. Development of Turkey's Cement Indusrty in 1911-1992 period is also analysed. The scope of this study is determined in a way which is mentioned below: This study consists of 5 chapters with an introduction which has general information about the subject. In the introduction, the aim and the scope of the study is explanied. Besides, the methods of the study, indexes and the aforementioned businesses and the periods which is studied are determined. The accuracy in the selection of the indexes, period and businesses and the possibility of using them in regard to the data of the businesses are of the great importance. In the second chapter, the development ofrTurkey's Cement Industry in 1991-1992 period is analysed because of the suitability of the mixed structure Turkey's Cement Industry for a public sector - private sector comparison and this industry's importance in the economy as a part of mani f a c tur ing industry../?-İl in the third chapte schemes which were made de in the periods after and b The fourth chapter of the financial and econo of Turkey between 19S0 and that the privatization of economic factors have been economic policies since 19 businesses, which is the s coherently as an extention cons idera t ion.
