Özet
Thomas Kuhn, ünlü eseri Bilimsel Devrimlerin Yapısı'nda (BDY) geliştirdiği özgün bilimsel etkinlik ve gelişim açıklaması ile bilim felsefesi yanında birçok düşünsel alanda etkili olmuş bir bilim felsefecisi ve tarihçisidir. Kuhn'un BDY'deki açıklaması ve bilimsel etkinliğin doğası hakkında vardığı sonuçlar, günümüze kadar süren yoğun tartışmalara neden olmuştur. Kuhn'un bu konudaki düşünceleri, BDY ile sınırlı kalmamış ve yaşamının son yıllarına kadar açıklamasını geliştirmeye uğraş vermiştir. Bu nedenle, çalışmada Kuhn'un bilimsel etkinlik ve onun gelişimi hakkındaki açıklamasını, SSR sonrasında geliştirmeye devam ettiği düşünceleri ile beraber ele aldım. BDY'nin 1962 yılında basılmasından Kuhn'un 1993 yılında yayınlanmış son makalesine kadar süren bu süreçte, Kuhn BDY'deki düşüncelerini daha açık hale getirmektedir. Çalışmada, Kuhn'un bu süreçte bilimsel değişimle ilgili yol açtığı sorunlara nasıl çözümler getirmeye çalıştığını izledim. Çalışmanın odağında ise, Kuhn'un bilimsel ilerleme kavrayışı yer almaktadır. Bilimsel ilerleme, Kuhn'un bilimsel değişimle ilgili BDY'de neden olduğu sorunların birleştiği konudur. Kuhn bu sorunları, kariyerinin son yıllarında geliştirmeye başladığı evrimsel gelişim açıklaması ile aşmaktadır.

Thomas Kuhn is a philosopher and historian of science who was influential in philosophy of science and many intelectual areas with his famous treatise The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (SSR). Kuhn's explanation in SSR and his conclusions regarding the nature of the scientific enterprise caused intensive controversies since today. Kuhn's thoughts on this subject was not limited with SSR and continued to develop his explanation until last years of his life. For this reason, in this study, I have considered Kuhn's explanation of the scientific enterprise and its development with his post-SSR thoughts. In this process which started with the publication of SSR in 1962 and ended with his last article in 1993, Kuhn made his ideas in SSR more explicit. In the study, I followed how Kuhn in this process solved the problems regarding scientific change. The focus of the study will be Kuhn's conception of scientific progress. Scientific progress is the uniting subject about the problems that Kuhn's SSR caused regarding scientific change. Kuhn overcame these problems with his evolutionary explanation that he started to develop in the last years of his career.
