Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of traditional and computer aided education methods including children's games on the development of basic movement skills. Material and Method: Primary school first grade students aged 5-6 (22 boys, 33 girls) are included in the study. Three groups have been formed as the traditional group (TG), computer aided group (CAG) and control group (CG). Two different eight week training programs have been applied to the experimental groups. Basic movemet skill levels have been determined by the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD). IBM SPSS 21 software program has been used fo the calculations. Statistical significance level has been determined as p<0.05. Normality level of data has been studied through Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, variance equation of data has been studied through Levene test. For the statistical development procedures, Independent Sample T, Paired Sample T, one-way analysis of variance ANOVA and post-hoc Scheffe tests have been used. Results: Only in CG, no significant difference has been observed during the measurements of the first-last tests of all variables related to the locomotor (L) and object control (OC). In the first-last test measurements among male and female participants, only in CG the first test OC average is significant in the statistical level. L, OC and TGMD average levels have significant increase based on the first-last test measurements of TG and CAG excluding CG. While there is no significant difference among three groups in the first test in terms of L, OC and TGMD; TG and CAG are significantly different from CG in all variables in the last test. Conclusion: It is obvious that; both methods are effective for the the training of basic movement skills, and CAG looks more effective than TG in all variables even if they are not statistically different. The reasons could be the age level of the test subjects, and the time, frequency and scope of computer aided education used
