Özet

Bu tezde genel çerçevede teknoloji ve eğitim ilişkisi bağlamında teknoloji ile birlikte dönüşüm geçiren eğitim olgusu incelenmiş, özelde ise yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin temel araç ve yöntemlerinden faydalanan uzaktan eğitim sisteminin gelişim evresi ve günümüzdeki durumu ATAUZEM örneği üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Eğitim kavramının merkeze alındığı bu çalışmada, yeni iletişim teknolojilerini etkin bir şekilde kullanmak zorunda olan uzaktan eğitimin içinde yer alan aktörleri ve ortamları ne şekilde dönüşüme uğrattığı ve bu dönüşümler sonucu ortaya çıkan yeni eğitim algısının geleneksel eğitimden hangi noktalarda farklılaştığı sorgulanmıştır. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın temel problemini yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin uzaktan eğitim sistemi içerisindeki eğitsel süreçlerde nasıl ve hangi biçimlerde kullanıldığı sorusu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma probleminden hareketle, yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin uzaktan eğitim süreçlerinde nasıl işlerlik gösterdiği, üniversitelerin bu teknolojileri nasıl kullandığı ve süreçlerin nasıl sürdürüldüğü ATAUZEM örneklemi özelinden ele alınmıştır. Araştırma, toplumsal hayatın kurulması ve idame ettirilmesi açısından oldukça önemli olan eğitimin, iletişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan gelişmelere bağlı olarak kullanıldığı yeni alanlar ve kazandığı yeni formları, sürecin aktörlerinden olan öğrenci, eğitici ve yöneticilerin de dâhil olduğu tanımlayıcı, açıklayıcı, tarif edici ve bazı noktalarda saptayıcı bir düzlemde sunma gayesi güttüğü için, betimsel modele göre dizayn edilmiştir. Ek olarak, çalışma belirli bir süreci, süreci ifade eden yazılı ve yazılı olmayan materyaller üzerinden değerlendirmesi nedeniyle, içerik analizinin kullanımına oldukça uygun bir altyapı sunmaktadır. Nitekim kullanılacak analiz yöntemi ile sürecin ikinci okuması da yapılarak görünen içeriğin ardındaki anlamlar ve paylaşım ilişkileri de irdelenmiştir. Değerlendirme işleminde içerik analizinin uygulama biçimlerinden biri olan kategorisel içerik analizi tekniğine bağlı kalınmış, bu analiz tekniğinden elde edilen veriler, taşıdıkları ortak anlamlara bağlı olarak sınıflandırılıp ve belirlenen kategoriler ışığında çözümlenmiştir. In this thesis, within the context of technology and education relationship in a general framework, concepts of education transforming with the technology was examined, and in private, development phase and current state of remote education system benefiting from basic tools and methods of new communication technologies are evaluated over ATAUZEM example. In this study, where the concept of education is centered, how it transforms the actors in the remote education who have to use new communication technologies effectively and how it has transformed the settings and how the new sense of education differs from the traditional education emerged as a result of these transformation. Within this context, the basic problem of the study consists of the question how and in what ways new communication technologies are used in the educational processes within the remote education system. From the study problem, how new communication technologies functions in remote education processes, how these technologies are used in universities and how these processes are maintained are taken into account from the ATAUZEM sample. Since the study aimed to present the education, which has significant place in terms of establishing the social life and maintaining it, and new forms it has and new areas where it is used depending on the developments in the communication technologies in a defining, explanatory, briefing and fixing in some points including the student, teacher and managers who are among the actors of the process, it was designed according to descriptive model. In addition, due to the study being evaluated over a certain period, written and non-written materials which express the process, it provide quite a proper infrastructure for the use of content analysis. Thus, the analysis method to be used and meanings and sharing relations behind the content seen by the second reading of the process are also investigated. During the evaluation process, categorical content analysis technique, one of the application methods of content analysis, was adhered, and the data collected from this analysis method was classified depending on the common meanings that they have and solved according to the determined categories.
