Özet
Bu çalışmada İstanbul ili,Beşiktaş ilçesi, Arnavutköy semtinde 132 2ada 9 parselde yer alan ahşap konut belgelenmiştir. 20.yüzyılın ilk yıllarında inşa edilmiş olduğu tahmin edilen yapı, 1980'li yılların başından vefatına kadar olan sürede Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan'ın evi olmuştur. Türkan Saylan Evi olarak nitelendirilen ev, özgün halinde harem ve selamlık bölümleri, müştemilat yapısı ve bahçesi olan büyük bir ahşap konutun selamlık,müştemilatı ve bahçesini kapsamaktadır. 20. yüzyıl başında görülen İstanbul'daki konut mimarisinin geçirdiği değişimlerin izlerinin okunabildiği evin cephesi de Art Nouveau üslubundaki süsleme elemanları ile dikkat çekmektedir. Özellikle pencere süslemeleri, aynı dönemde inşa edilmiş Hıdiva Sarayı cephesinde kullanılmış olan çizgisel Art Nouveau örneklerinin sivil bir uyarlamasıdır. Bu çalışmada söz konusu yapının mevcut durumu belgelenmiş, yapının özgün durumu ve tarihi araştırılarak malzeme analizleri ve dönem analizleri yapılmış, ahşap konutun özgün plan ve cephe kurgusuna dair araştırmalar yapılmıştır. Yapıda görülen hasarlar tespit edilmiş ve bununla birlikte yapılması gereken müdahalelerle birlikte restorasyon projesi hazırlanmıştır.

In this thesis, the wooden house that belongs to Prof. Türkan Saylan located at Arnavutköy neighborhood, Beyazgül Street, door number 41; block number 132, parcel 9, Beşiktaş, Istanbul has been studied.Research showed the building is constructed in the early 20th century. Original structure had three parts in general; one is the section for usage of men, one for women and household and an annex with a garden where the wet spaces are located.The house that is described as Türkan Saylan House consists of the part that is reserved for men (selamlık), together with the extension where the wet areas are located and a small garden. During the survey phase, Türkan Saylan House is studied and restoration proposals are only made for this particular sections while in the restitution project the building is considered as a whole.After the survey of the wooden residence, further analyses are made that show the materials that are used in the building. An analysis which focuses of the damages that are seen in the house is made and finally a chronological analysis is prepared to show the different time periods of the building elements. The restitution drawings are made with the help of historical documents, maps and statements of both users and local people of the area. Deteriorations of the buildings caused by both human activities and physical environmental factors are emphasized in the analyses. These problematic areas are detected and formed a base for proposals for the restoration process. The major problem of the building is the addition the new elements to the original body of the house. This an issue that prevents the detection of the original structure. In addition to that the change in the original plan of the house should be reconsidered while taking into account both original properties of the house and need of the users. Proposals for the restoration are supported with detailed drawings.In conclusion during this study, measurements, drawings and analytical survey, restitution and restoration project drawings are made. Conservation problems are defined and solutions are developed and the work is concluded by making a general assessment.
