Özet
Bu tez çalışması; 4. Sınıf“Saf Madde ve Karışım”konusunun öğretiminde 5E modeli ile desteklenen bağlam temelli öğretim yönteminin öğrencilerin kavramsal anlamalarına, fene yönelik tutumlarına ve bilgilerinin kalıcılığına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada karma araştırma deseni benimsenmiştir. Çalışmanın bağımsız değişkeni 5E modeli ile desteklenen bağlam temelli öğretim yöntemi, bağımlı değişkenleri ise fene yönelik tutum, kavramsal anlama ve bilginin kalıcılığıdır. Bu çalışmada bağımsız değişkenin fene yönelik tutuma etkisini belirlemek için yarı- deneysel ön test son test kontrol gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenin kavramsal anlamaya ve bilgilerin kalıcılığına etkisini belirlemek için ise deney öncesi durağan grup karşılaştırması modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada deney grubunda“5E Modeliyle Desteklenen Bağlam Temelli Öğretim Yöntemi”kullanılmış; kontrol grubunda ise öğretmenin daha önceki konuların öğretiminde kullanageldiği“Geleneksel Öğretim Yöntemi”korunmuştur. Araştırma Gaziantep'te bir devlet okulunda 2016 - 2017 akademik yılı bahar döneminde, 4. Sınıf düzeyinde, toplam 43 öğrenci ile 10 haftada tamamlanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Fene Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Alternatif Ölçme Araçları kullanılmış, uygulamalar tamamlandıktan sonra deney grubundan 10 öğrenci ile mülakat yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin bilgilerinin kalıcılığını belirlemek için son testlerin uygulanmasından bir buçuk ay sonra Alternatif Ölçme Araçları tekrar uygulanmıştır. Nicel verilerin analizinde yüzde, frekans ve t testi istatistik teknikleri, nitel verilerin analizinde ise içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre 5E öğrenme modeli ile desteklenen bağlam temelli öğretim yönteminin öğrencilerin fene yönelik olumlu tutumlarını geliştirmede ve kavramsal anlamalarını arttırmada etkili olduğu, fakat öğrencilerin bilgilerinin kalıcılığında bir etkisinin görülmediği söylenebilir.

This thesis study was carried out in order to investigate the impact of context based teaching method supported by 5E model in teaching 4th grade students the“pure substance and mixture”topic on the students' conceptual perceptions, their attitude towards science and the memorability of their knowledge. In this study, mixed research pattern was used. The independent variable is the context-based teaching method supported by the 5E model, and the dependent variables are the students' conceptual perceptions, their attitude towards science and the memorability of their knowledge. In this study, semi-experimental pre-test post-test control group model was used to determine the effect of the independent variable on the students' attitude towards science. The pre-experimental static-group comparison model was used to determine the effect of the independent variable on conceptual perceptions and the memorability of knowledge . In this study, context based teaching method supported by 5E model was used on the sample group in teaching“pure substance and mixture”topic and the traditional teaching method,was used on the control group. The research was completed number of 43 students in 10 weeks in 4th grade classes in a state in Gaziantep in the 2016-2017 academic year. In the process of data collection, Attitude Towards Science Scale and Alternative Measurement Tools (AMT) were used and interviews were held with 10 students in the sample group. AMT were reused one and a half month after the implementation in order to determine the memorability of the students' knowledge. Percentage, frequency and t test statistical techniques were used in the analysis of quantitative data, and content analysis technique was used in the analysis of qualitative data. According to the findings, it can be said that the context-based teaching method supported by the 5E learning model is effective in improving the students 'positive attitudes towards science and conceptual meaning, but no effect has been observed on the memorability of the students' knowledge.
