- Morozovella angulata Zone (Middle Montian) - Morozovella trinidadensis Zone (Upper Daniari) - Morozovella pseudobulloides Zone (Lower Danian) - Gansserina gansseri Zone (Middle MaastricMan) Planktic foraminifer zones that described at the investigated area are correlated with similar studies in Turkey and belt of Mediterranean and on the world. The relationships between the result of residual analysis of the samples of section, abundance of planktic foraminifera, abundance of bentic foraminifera have been interpreted by graphics.

(NORTH of ANKARA) BASED on PLANKTIC FORAMINIFERA and NUMERICAL ANALYSES Güher KARAHASAN Ankara University Graduate School of Naturel and Applied Sciences Department of Geological Engineering Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Vedia TOKER 1996, Page: 97 Jury : ProfDr. Tuncer GÜVENÇ. ProfDr. Yavuz OKAN Prof. Dr. Vedia TOKER In this investigation, a biostratigraphy study based on planktic foraminifera has been carried out Cretaceous - Paleocene units of easten Elmadağ area ( northen Ankara). One stratigraphic section was measured and 87 samples were collected from the study area 15 planktic foraminifera genus, 34 planktic foraminifera species, 6 planktic foraminifera zones have been distinguished These Zones are: - Morozovella velascoensis Zone (Upper Thanetian) - Planorotalites pseudomenardii Zone (Lower Thanetian)- Morozovella angulata Zone (Middle Montian) - Morozovella trinidadensis Zone (Upper Daniari) - Morozovella pseudobulloides Zone (Lower Danian) - Gansserina gansseri Zone (Middle MaastricMan) Planktic foraminifer zones that described at the investigated area are correlated with similar studies in Turkey and belt of Mediterranean and on the world.
