Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı bir hedefe ulaşmak için küçük gruplar halinde çalışma süreci olarak tanımlanan iş birlikli öğrenmenin uygulandığı bir öğrenme ortamının öğrencilerin kalıtımın genel ilkeleri ünitesindeki akademik başarılarına, akademik öz-yeterliklerine ve biyoloji öğrenme anlayışlarına etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmada, işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemi ve biyoloji programının ön gördüğü öğretim yönteminin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları, öz-yeterlikleri ve biyoloji öğrenme anlayışları üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmak amacıyla“ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen”kullanılmıştır. Çalışma on hafta boyunca iki deney, iki kontrol grubu olmak üzere dört farklı şubede, 126 lise öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ön test ve son test olarak uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında Kalıtımın Genel İlkeleri Başarı Testi, Akademik Öz-yeterlik Ölçeği ve Biyoloji Öğrenme Anlayışı Ölçeği uygulanmış, elde edilen veriler SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma gibi bazı betimsel istatistik bulguları verildikten sonra, çıkarıma dayalı istatistik olarak t-testi analizleri ve MANOVA yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu ile geleneksel yönteminin uygulandığı kontrol grubu arasında ele alınan değişkenlerin son test puanları açısından anlamlı farklılığın (p< .05) olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmanın bulguları alan yazın ile karşılaştırılarak tartışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

Cooperative learning can be defined as studying for a common goal or to carry out a task by creating small groups. The aim of this study is to induce a positive effect on the students' academic achievements, self-efficacy, and conceptions of learning biology, in the chapter of The General Principles of Inheritance in a learning environment in which cooperative learning is practiced. In the study,“Quasi-experimental Design with Comparison Group Pre-test/Post-test Design ”was used to examine the effects of the cooperative learning method and the biology program's teaching method on the students' academic achievement, self-efficacy and conceptions of learning. 126 high school students participated in the study from four different classrooms, two of which was experimental group and the other two was the control group. The application of the methods in the classes took ten weeks. At the beginning of the application, the teachers and the students in the experimental group were informed about cooperative learning and how to apply Student Teams-Achievement Divisions. The General Principles of Inheritance Achievement Test as pre-test and post-test, the Academic Self-efficacy Scale and the Conceptions of Learning Biology Scale were applied before and after the application. The obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS software. After determining the descriptive values such as arithmetic mean and standard deviation, t-test analysis and MANOVA have been applied depending on the inferential statistics. Significant differences in the post-test scores of the selected variables between the test group (p< .05) in which the cooperative learning method was applied and the control group, in which the traditional program's teaching method, was applied. The findings of the study were discussed by comparing them with the literature and proposals were presented.
