Özet
This study has been made of the Hospital of Sivas Cumhuriyet University psychiatry clinic to find out the feelings, opions and evaluations, difficultres, of hospitalized patients and their relatives (on the patient visits) and their expectations from nurses, as an inter pictation. Stuy was made on 60 patients hospitalized in psychiatry clinic between 1 of March 1995 and 30 June 1995 and their 60 relatives coming to visit them. The data were collected by a visit evaluation for developed by the investigaton and by Status-Trait Anxiety Inventory whose rehability were studied by Öner & Le Compte. To evaluate the data optained at the end of the study Chi-Square, Fisher Chi-Square, Wilcoxon pailed two sample tests and t-test were used. The data optained the study can be classified as given below. The most of the patients have wanted to be visited in clinic, especially by their wives, children and parents. According to patient relatives it's very important to give the support that patients need. To obtain the family support which includies to take care of the patients make feel him/her that she/he is not done, to speak about the situation of the patient with clinicians, to give information about home/family environment and to supply patient's pshysical needs, can only he possible, according to patient relatives, by visits. The patients and their relatives, generally have difficulty in accepting the having psychiatric patient and sickness. This problem 77affects their mutual effect during- the visiting in a negative way. Most of the patients and their relatives have found the applications about visiting very useful. But some of the patients have desiced to see their children and other relatives, and for this reason they have not found certain applications ((eg) child visitors are not allowed to enter, limitations about visitors can be brought if it is necessary). The patient and their relatives have found the visiting periods and visiting days adequate. The patients have usually required help and information from the nurses for the nurses for the problems that they faced during the visiting. The patient relatives have also required help and information about the situation of their patients while staying the hospital and after discharged from the hospital, the use of their patient's medicines, their treatment of their patients, the situation that they have to pay attention during the visiting. The obtained results will be evaluate inside thesis by given a some suggestions. 78
