Özet
Bir grubun gündelik yaşam pratiği içinde davranışlarını gözlemlemeyi ve yapılan gözlemlere dayanarak ilgili gruba veya o grubun uğraşına yönelik betimleme yapmayı gerektiren Etnografi, Antropoloji disiplininde sıklıkla kullanılan bir nitel veri toplama yöntemidir. Türkiye'de doktora düzeyinde ve yeni bir kuram oluşturmak üzere yürütülen tiyatro araştırmalarında, bugüne kadar Etnografi'nin bir yöntem olarak kullanıldığı bir örnek çalışmaya rastlanılmamaktadır. Bu tezde, bir ilk-örnek oluşturması amacıyla, Etnografi'nin nitel veri toplama yöntemi olarak kullanıldığı bir teatral performans araştırması yürütülmüştür. Üç bölümden oluşan tezin ilk bölümünde, tiyatro ve antropoloji disiplinlerinin yirminci yüzyıldaki birlikteliğine kuramsal bir perspektif çizilerek deneyim kavramının çağdaş örnekler ışığında nasıl anlamlandırıldığına bakılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, araştırmacının deneyimi sorunsallaştırılmıştır. Son bölüm alan çalışmasına ayrılmış, bu bölümde Tiyatrotem grubunun tiyatro üretim sürecinde deneyimin hangi safhalara ayrıldığı etnografik yöntemle tespit edilerek çözümlemesi yapılmıştır.

Ethnography is a method of collecting qualitative data that is often used in the discipline of anthropology, which requires a group, the behavior of which is to be observed in everyday life practice and to make a description based on the observations made. In theater studies that are carried out in Turkey at the doctorate level in order to establish a new theory, no case study has been found so far, where ethnography is used as a method. In this thesis, a theatrical performance research was conducted for the purpose of creating a first-sample, in which ethnography was used as a qualitative data collection method. In the first part of the thesis, the theoretical perspective of the twentieth-century coexistence of the disciplines of theater and anthropology are examined to see how the concept of experience is understood in the light of contemporary examples. In the second part, the researcher's experience is problematized. The last chapter is devoted to the field study of a Theater Ethnography experience. In the study, it was determined by means of ethnographic method which phase of the experience of the theater production process of the theatrical group is and the findings were analyzed and a local theorization was carried out.
