Özet

97 8.SUMMARY Loquat growing and production of our country is going to be more important day by day because of the limited fruit varieties in the markets during early spring. Use of productive and high quality loquat varieties helps this development. This loquat adaptation experiment was carried out in Adana (BalcaJı) during 1993-94 and 1994-95 growing periods. 13 loquat varieties which were used as material in the experiment are: Akko XIII, Baffico, Champagne de Grasse, Dr.Trabut, Gold Nugget, Hafif Çukur Göbek (H.Ç.G.), kanro, M.Marie, Ottawiani, Sayda, Tanaka, Taza, Victor. Blossoming period and ripening time were noted down as phenological characters. Yield per tree, yield per tree volume and yield per unit trunk cross sectional area were calculated as yield character. In the laboratory, pomologtcai features were evaluated as fruit quality criterions (fruit weight,seed weight, fruit-flesh/seed ratio, number of seed per fruit, total soluble solids (TSS), acidity. In order to evaluate and compare the yield per tree and fruit quality parameters together, weighed ranking test was performed. Flowering periods were earlier in Champagne de Grasse and H.Ç.G. than other cultivars. Champagne de Grasse and H.Ç.G. were flowered earlier than the other varieties in both seasons. The most precocious varieties are Tanaka and Baffico during 1993-94 and 1994-95 periods, respectively. In the first growing period Baffico (64.67 kgAree), in the second growing period Champagne de Grasse (70.00 kgAree) M.Marie (69.00 kgAree), Baffico (66.33 kgAree) and Akko XIII (63.83 kgAree) had given the highest yield. In our experiment Akko XIII, M.Marie and Taza had given the highest yield per unit98 tree volume. On the other hand the highest yield per trunk cross sectional area was obtained from Baffico, M.Marie and Victor cuitivars. The largest fruits were formed on Gold Nugget trees in the first period and on Ottawiani in the second period. Highest seed weight were obtained from the same varieties in the same periods. In both growing periods Tanaka had resulted with the highest fruit flesh/seed ratio. The lowest number of seed per fruit was determined in Champagne de Grasse in the 1993-94 and Tanaka in 1994-95 periods. In both season Sayda has given the sweetest fruits. The malic acid content was the lowest in Clampagne de Grasse during the 1993-94 period. Victor had the lowest malic acid content during 1994-95 period. When 1993-94 and 1994-95 growing periods parameters were evaluated by weighed ranked tests M.Marie, Champagne de Grasse, Baffico, Gold Nugget and Akko XIII have shown the highest points. So these loquat cuitivars can be recommended to Adana ecological conditions. But trials should be continued for a few years more to obtain definite results.
