Justice became a prominent notion together with the 20th century. Also, it is ensured that justice is a point of reference considering the conditions of present era. Developments in the field of human rights, the impact of technology, such problems regarding economy and climate issues in the world have directly modified the meaning of justice. Along with these effects, it is emerged that justice in the contemporary era is not solely a subject of one field. Thus, in this thesis, it is asserted that justice is a concept that related to the continuation of life and the achievement for a better life. The formation of thought of justice in the contemporary era is jointly being discussed with the influence of the conditions of present era, the views in the history of philosophy and the theories of justice. In this thesis, the philosophical foundations of thought of justice in the contemporary era are elaborated in the lead of John Rawls, Robert Nozick, Friedrich Hayek and to the other influential names in the history of philosophy.
