Özet
Kredi derecelendirme kuruluşları tarafından yapılan derecelendirme duyuruları finansal piyasaları etkileme potansiyeli bulunan faktörlerden biridir. Bu çalışmada, kredi derecelendirme kuruluşları tarafından şirketlere verilen not güncellemelerinin şirket hisse senetleri üzerinde etkisi olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada Borsa İstanbul 30 endeksinde işlem gören şirketlerin hisse senetlerinin derecelendirme not ya da görünüm güncellemelerine verdikleri tepkiler, olay çalışması yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, olumsuz derecelendirme duyuruları bir etki oluşturmazken, olumlu derecelendirme duyurularının, duyurunun gerçekleştiği gün çevresinde hisse senedi getirileri üzerinde etki oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The rating announcements made by credit rating agencies (CRA) are one of the factors that have the potential to affect financial markets. In this study, it was researched whether the rating updates given by the credit rating agencies to the companies had an effect on the company stock prices. The responses of the companies traded on the Borsa Istanbul 30 index to the credit score or outlook updates of the stocks were examined using the event study method. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that while negative rating announcements do not have an impact on stock returns, positive ratings announcements had an impact on the stock returns around the day when the announcement was made.
