Özet
Bu tezde, 19. Yüzyılda Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda ortaya çıkan Ermeni milliyetçi hareketinin gelişimi ele alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, Ermeni milliyetçi hareketinin ortaya çıkmasını sağlayan faktörler, Ermeni partilerinin oluşum ve gelişim süreci ve tehcir kararının alınmasına gidilen süreç incelenmiştir. Tezin birinci bölümünde, milliyetçilik kavramına yaklaşımlar incelenmiş ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda ortaya çıkan milliyetçilik hareketlerine değinilmiştir. Daha sonra, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun yapısında meydana gelen değişimler incelenmiştir. Tezin ikinci bölümünde ise, Ermenilerin Osmanlı idaresine girmeden önceki dönemlerdeki durumları ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda 19. Yüzyıla kadarki durumları incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümün sonraki kısmında ise, tezin ana konusunu oluşturan Ermeni milliyetçi hareketinin gelişimi ortaya koyulmuştur. Ermeni milliyetçi hareketinin temelini Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun yapısındaki bozukluklar oluşturmuştur. Bununla birlikte, hareketin gelişim sürecinde yaşadığı değişikliklerin ana sebepleri ise uluslararası politikada meydana gelen değişiklikler olmuştur. Ermeni milliyetçi hareketi ise özellikle bir dış gücün sürekli desteğine sahip olmaması nedeniyle başarıya ulaşamamıştır. Sonuçta Anadolu'da Ermenilerin büyük kısmına uygulanan Tehcir kararı uygulamaya koyulmuştur.

In this thesis, the development of the Armenian nationalist movement in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century is considered. In this context, the factors that led to the emergence of the Armenian nationalist movement, the process of formation and development of the Armenian parties and the process that led to“the decision of the deportation”were examined. In the first part of the thesis, the approaches to the concept of nationalism and the nationalist movements that emerged in the Ottoman Empirewere examined. Later, changes that took place in the structure of the Ottoman Empire were also examined. In the second part of the thesis, the situation of the Armenians in the previous periods before being a subject of the Ottoman Empire and also their situation as a subject of Ottoman Empire until the 19th century was examined. In the second part of the second chapter, the development of the Armenian nationalist movement, which constitutes the main theme of the thesis has considered. The basis of the Armenian nationalist movement is the political disorder of the Ottoman Empire. However, the main reasons for the changes in the developmental process of Armenian nationalist movement have been changed due to evolutions in the international politics. The Armenian nationalist movement, on the other hand, has not succeeded, especially since it does not have the continuous support of a foreign power. As a result,“the Decree of the Deportation”applied to most of the Armenians in Anatolia was put into practice.
