SUMMARY Small and medium - sized enterprises (SME) have getting more and more importance because of cheaper employment possibilities created by them and their share in total production. That is why SME are vitaly important for economic life of all developed and developing countries although they have different social, political and cultural structures. There is a trend to establish new organization to help SME in foundation, organization, production planning, financial support and marketting areas. It is given more and more importance to SME in our country as in the world, but we are much left behind to developed countries from the point of financial support facilities. The most important problem SME face is insufficient finance. Workers companies which can be assumed as SME without any doubt shares the same problems as these enterprises. The number of solutions to apply in order to get rid of this problem is very limited. Creating new and convenient financial sources for those companies which have difficulty in creating sources is necessary for national economy and healty development. In order to create new financial sources, utilizing new financial techniques and instruments which have been used in developed countries can be helpful in eliminating those difficulties. Although Turkey has a SME structure which is in the world standard, having 3.8 % loan rate, she rather remains behind of other countries. SME in developed countries have special support because of their characteristics like being supportive industry, being elastic to consumer preferences and market volume. We have to provide better conditions to our SME which will face many other problems in the process of customs union. Otherwise there is a danger of being late as in the case of workers companies experiences.
