Özet
Öğrenciler fen kavramlarıyla daha öğretim yaşantılarına başlamadan tanışırlar. Öğretim sürecinde onların sahip oldukları fen kavramları üzerinde fen öğretmenleri ve fen ders kitapları en güçlü olan etkenlerdir. Bu çalışma ile 7. Sınıf fen ders kitaplarında, geçmişten günümüze atom modelleri ile ilgili çalışmalar yapan bilim insanlarından bahsedilme düzeyi; kullanılan atom modellerinin sayısı, çeşidi ve yeterliliğini incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma 11 adet, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Talim Terbiye Kurulu tarafından onaylı 7. Sınıf fen ders kitabı üzerinde doküman analizi yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya konu olan ders kitapları, 1999-2017 yılları arasında basılmış ve basım yıllarına göre sıralanmıştır. Kitaplarda bulunan atom modellerinin resimleri sayılmış, hangi resmin hangi modele ait olduğu 3 ayrı uzman tarafından incelenmiş ve aralarındaki korelasyon ölçülmüştür. Ayrıca araştırmada konu olan bilim insanlarının bahsedilme düzeyi ve modellerine yer verilmesinin puanlaması; İçerik Kontrol Listesi oluşturulup, hiç sağlamıyor (0), orta sağlıyor (1) ve tam sağlıyor (2) şeklinde puanlama yapılarak analiz edilmiştir. Puanlayıcılar arası güvenirlik için korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre atom modellerinden ve bu modelleri bulan bilim insanlarından bahsedilme düzeyinin düşük olduğu, atom modellerinin resimlerinin daha ayrıntılı çizilmesi gerektiği görülmektedir. Araştırma sonucunda ders kitaplarının atom kavramının anlatımında yetersiz olduğu kanısına varılmıştır. Konu ile ilgili olarak ders kitabı yazarlarına ve yeni yapılacak araştırmalara ilişkin öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

Students meet with science concepts before they start teaching. Science teachers and science textbooks are the strongest factors on the science concepts they have in the teaching process. In this study, 7th grade science textbooks, the level of mentioning the scientists who are studying the atomic model of the past; the number and types of atomic models used and the sufficiency of the atomic models. This study was carried out by using document analysis method on the 7th grade science text book approved by Ministry of National Education Talim ve Terbiye Board. Textbooks subject to the study were published between 1999-2017 and sorted by years of publication. The pictures of the atomic models found in the books are counted, and which model of the picture belongs to which model is researched by 3 experts and the correlation between them is measured. In addition, the scoring of the level of the scientists who are the subjects of the research and the modeling of them; The Content Checklist was constructed and analyzed by scoring as zero (0), medium (1), and complete (2). Correlation analysis was performed for inter-scorer reliability. According to the research findings, it is seen that atomic models and the scientists who find these models have a low level of mentioning, and the atomic models must be drawn in more detail. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that the textbooks are inadequate to express the atomic concept. Proposals have been made to the authors of the course books and to the new researches on the subject.
