Özet
Amaç: Öğrenme stillerinin akademik başarı üzerindeki etkisini incelemek ve ilgili eğitim komisyonlarında oluşturulacak optimal fizyoterapi eğitim modellerinin yaygınlaştırılmasına hizmet etmek amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma; Marmara Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümü' nde öğrenim gören 355 lisans öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirildi. 6 farklı ders kategorisinin (ortak zorunlu, temel tıp, klinik-cerrahi, pre-klinik fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon, araştırma) her biri için Kolb Öğrenme Stili Envanteri uygulandı ve öğrencilerin ders notları kaydedildi. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin % 58.3' ü kız, % 41.7' si erkekti. Öğrencilerin farklı ders kategorileri için farklı öğrenim stilleri benimsediği; ortak zorunlu, temel tıp, klinik cerrahi bilim, pre-klinik fizyoterapi ve klinik fizyoterapi ders kategorilerindeki öğrenim stil farklılığının, akademik başarılarının da farklı olmasına neden olduğu görüldü. Araştırma ders kategorisinde öğrencilerin tercih ettikleri öğrenim stili ise akademik notlar üzerinde farklılaşmaya neden olmadı. Öğrencilerin okuduğu sınıf, öğrenim stil tercihini etkiledi (p< 0,05), cinsiyet ise etkilemedi (p> 0, 05). Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin birbirlerinden farklı öğrenim stiline sahip olmasının yanı sıra farklı ders kategorileri için farklı öğrenim stilleri benimseyebileceği ve bu durumun akademik başarı üzerinde etki oluşturabileceği görüldü.

ABSTRACT Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the effect of learning styles on academic achievement and to serve optimal physiotherapy training models to the relevant training commissions. Methods: Research; the data was collected from 355 undergraduate students in Marmara University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Kolb Learning Style Inventory was applied to each of the 6 different course categories (common compulsory, basic medicine, clinical-surgery, pre-clinical physiotherapy and rehabilitation, research) and students' course notes were recorded. Results: From the participants of this study, 58.3% of the students were female and 41.7% of them were male. Students adopted different learning styles for different course categories; it was seen that the learning style difference in the common compulsory, basic medicine, clinical surgical science, pre-clinical physiotherapy and clinical physiotherapy course categories caused the academic achievements to vary. In the research course category, the preferred learning style of the students did not cause any differences on academic grades. The students' graduate year influenced their choice of learning style (p< 0,05) and gender did not have any significant effect (p> 0, 05). Discussion: As a result of this research, it was seen that students have different learning styles and adopt different learning styles for different course categories, which have an impact on their academic achievement.
