Özet
Bu araştırma, Gazi Üniversitesi Mimarlık Bölümü 4. Sınıf öğrencileri ile birlikte, üretken sistemlerden olan fraktallerin ve voronoinin mimari tasarım eğitimi sürecinde, öğrencilerin tasarım kararlarını alma ve ürüne dönüştürme aşamalarındaki rolünü incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, öğrencilerin yarısına üretken yaklaşımlardan matematik ve geometri ile bağlantılı olan fraktaller ve voronoi ile ilgili bilgi verilmiş, diğer yarısına ise herhangi bir bilgi verilmeden tasarımlarını biçimlendirmeleri istenmiştir. Böylelikle mimarlık ve geometri arasındaki ilişkinin üretken yaklaşımlarla nasıl değiştiği gözlenmiştir. Çalışmada, geleneksel yöntem ile tasarımlarını yapan öğrencilerin, çalışmalarını rastgele deneyerek türettikleri, fraktal ve voronoi yöntemi ile tasarımlarını yapan öğrencilerin ise belirli kurallar çerçevesinde tasarımlarını gerçekleştirdiği saptanmıştır. Bu çalışmada, denenen üretken yaklaşımlardan olan fraktal ve voronoi, hem süreç içinde hem de sonuç üründe farklılık ve yenilik yaratabilmesini olanaklı kılması, tasarımın kontrollü bir şekilde ilerlemesi, değiştirilmesi ve geliştirilebilmesi, öğrencinin zihinsel işlemlerine kısıtlama getirmekten çok, tasarımcının zihninde yeni tasarımlar için uyarıcı ve yeni çağrışımlar oluşturucu etkiye sahip olması ve biçimlendirme sürecinin izlenebilir olması açısından eğitimde kullanılabilir bir yöntem olarak belirlenmiştir.

This study has been carried out with the 4 th grade students of Gazi University Department of Architecture in order to investigate the role of fractal and voronoi, which are among the productive systems, on the stages of students' decision making and turning them into products during the process of architectural education. In this study, half of the students were told about fractals and voronoi, which are related to mathematics and geometry, and which are among the productive approaches, whereas the other half were not told anything related to them. And then they were asked to design their projects. In this way, how the relationship between architecture and geometry changes with the use of productive approaches has been observed. In the study, it has been observed that those who use traditional methods design their projects by trying them randomly; on the other hand, those who design their projects with the methods of fractal and voronoi design them by using certain rules. Fractal and Voronoi, which are among productive approaches and which are tried in this study, have been determined as an applicable method in education as regards the fact that it can make it possible to make a difference and produce innovation both during the process and on the end product, the fact that the design proceeds, changes and develops in a controlled manner, the fact that it has an effect on the designers' mind to start new designs and to produce new associations rather than restricting students' mental processes and the fact that shaping processes can be observed.
