Özet
Beethoven'ın yaşamının şekillenmesinde etken olan unsurlar ve Op.13 Patetik Sonat adlı eserinin formal, yapısal, armonik ve piyanistik kullanımlar açısından incelenmesini amaçlayan bu çalışma, giriş ve yedi başlıktan oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde, tüm çalışma boyunca odaklanacağımız sonat formunun tarihsel evrim süreci ve bestecilerin sonat formuna katkıları, çalışmanın amacı ve bu amaca yönelik izlenen yol belirtilmiştir. İkinci başlıkta, bestecinin yaşam öyküsü genel hatları ele alınmış, ailevi yapısı, babasının erken yaştan itibaren ruh sağlığına yaptığı etki, eşitlik ve kardeşlik kavramları, işitme engelinin karşısındaki tutumu ve işitme engelli olmanın ruh sağlığına yaptığı etki ile yaşamındaki önemli sayılacak olayların vurgulanmasına çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü başlıkta, sonat ve senfoni gibi türlerin birinci ve sonuncu bölümlerinde kullanılan klasik Sonat Allegrosu'nun karakteristik özellikleri ele alınmıştır. Dördüncü başlıkta, Beethoven'ın yaşamının üç dönemi, bu dönemlerde bestelediği önemli eserler ve dönemlerinin birbirleri ile olan ilişki ve farklılıkları vurgulanmak istenmiştir. Her üç döneme ait piyano sonatları listelenmiştir. Beşinci başlıkta, Patetik Sonat'ın da bestelenmiş olduğu birinci dönem daha detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmış, birinci dönem piyano sonatları hakkında genel bilgilere yer verilmiş ve piyano sonatları listelenmiştir. Altıncı başlıkta ise, Patetik Sonat'ın form, armoni, piyanistik kullanışlar açısından incelenmesi için gerçekleşmiş, her ölçüde kompozisyonel incelikler tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Eserin incelikli yorumuna etki edecek bulgular araştırılmış ve tek bir kök hücreden tüm eseri icra etme düşüncesinin esere nasıl yansıdığı hakkında örnekler verilmiştir. Son olarak çalışmanın sonuç kısmını oluşturan yedinci başlıkta, incelemelerle tespit edilen tüm detaylar genel bir çerçevede açıklanmıştır.

Main features which characterize the lifestyle of Beethoven and an examination of Op.13“Pathétique Sonata”in terms of formal, structural, harmonic and pianistic uses as a case study constitute the contents of this study which comprises an introductory and seven subsequent chapters. In the introduction chapter, the historical progress and the contributions of the composers to the sonata form, and the methodology for this purpose are stated. In the second chapter, the life history of the composer is discussed in detail, the family structure, the effect of his father on his mental health from early ages, the concepts of equality and fraternity, his attitude towards his hearing disability, and the effect of this inability on his mental health have been emphasized. In the third chapter, the characteristics of the classical Sonata Allegros used in the first and last parts of the musical works such as sonatas and symphonies were discussed. In the fourth chapter, the three periods of Beethoven's life, the important works which belong to these three periods were examined in terms of the relations and the differences between each period. Piano sonatas of all three periods are mentioned in a list. In the fifth chapter, the first period during which the Pathetic Sonata was composed was discussed in detail, general information about the first period piano sonatas were given and the piano sonatas of the first period were listed. In the sixth chapter, the pathetic sonata has been studied in terms of form, harmony and pianistic usage and delicate features of composition within each meter were determined. Findings that will influence the performing interpretation of the work have been analysed. Therefore, examples were given on how performing the whole work starting off a single meter is reflected on the sonata. Finally, in the seventh chapter that constitutes the final part of the study, all the findings of the study determined by examinations are submitted as a resumé in a general framework.
