Özet
Bir mesleğin icrasında etik davranışları belirleyen en önemli unsur, etik ilkelerdir. Etik ilkelerin kaynağı ise temel değerlerdir. Tıbbi etik ilkelerin temel değerler ile olan bu ilişkisi, tıp mesleği özelinde incelenmesi gereken önemli bir konudur. Bu çalışma, ilkelere kaynaklık eden değerlerden yol çıkılarak, akademisyen hekimlerin sahip oldukları etik değerleri ve bu değerleri belirleyen unsurların neler olabileceğini tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma,“eşzamanlı karma yönteme”göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda açık uçlu anket tekniği, nitel boyutunda yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın deseni, eşzamanlı üçgenleme desenidir. Örneklemi, üniversite hastanesidir. Katılımcıları, ilgili üniversitenin akademik kadrosunda görevli 58 tıp hekimidir. Araştırmanın sonucunda; akademisyen hekimlerin etik ilkelerinin bireylerin sahip olduğu temel insani değerlerden türediği, bu değerlerin neler olduğu, bu değerlerin mesleki karar ve uygulamalarda hekimleri yönlendirdiği, sağlık hizmetlerinin sunumuna katkı sağladığı, ilkelerle çatışması durumunda hastayı önceleyen ahlâkî davranışın benimsendiği tespit edilmiştir. Mesleki etik kurulların ise bu değerlerin oluşumuna, kurumsal karar ve uygulamalara katkısı olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Mesleki etik değerleri ise,“sağlık politikaları ve sağlık sisteminin getirdikleri, tıbbi bilimsel gelişmeler ve tıbbi teknoloji, çalışma şartları, çalışılan kurum, aile ve sosyal çevre, toplum ve yaşanılan coğrafya, kültür, tıp eğitimi, hukuk sistemi ve hukuk kuralları, ahlâk ve ahlâkî değerler, vicdani sorumluluk duygusu, etik ilkeler, değerler, hastaların tutum ve davranışları, inanç, dinî inanç ve dinî değerler, yaşamsal ve mesleki tecrübeler, sosyoekonomik düzey, örf ve âdetler, kişisel ve mesleki gelişim, meslek kuruluşları”gibi 21 unsurun belirlediği tespit edilmiştir.

Ethical principles are the most important determinant of ethical behaviors in the practice of a profession. Source of the ethical principles are the core values. This relationship between the principles of medical ethics and the core values is an important issue that needs to be examined in the medical profession. By getting under way from the values that originate the principles, the aim of this study is to determine these ethical values of academicians and what might be the factors that determine these values. The study was carried out according to“simultaneous mixed method”. In quantitative dimension of the research, open-ended questionnaire technique and in qualitative dimension of the research, semi-structured interviewing technique was applied. The pattern of the study is a simultaneous triangulation pattern. Research sample is a university hospital.The participants are 58 medical doctors working in the academic staff of the related university. As a result of the study, it has been established that the ethical principles of academician doctors are derived from the basic human values of individuals, what these values are, that these values direct the physicians in professional decisions and applications, that they contribute to the presentation of health services, and in case of clashes of the principles, that the moral behavior which prioritizes the patient is adopted. It was also determined that professional ethics committees do not contribute to the formation of these values and to the institutional decisions and practices. Professional ethic values were retained by 21 factors such as,“medical scientific advances and medical technology that are brought by health policies and health system, work conditions, institution which is studied or worked in, family and social environment, community and geography that is lived within, culture, medical education, legal system and rules of law, morality and moral values, responsibility for conscientious ethical principles, values, attitudes and behaviors of patients, faith, religious beliefs and religious values, vital and professional experiences, socioeconomic level, customs and traditions, personal and professional development, occupational organizations”.
