Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 5. sınıf matematik dersi ondalık sayılar konusunun hikaye yoluyla öğretiminin, öğrencilerin matematik başarısına, matematik kaygısına ve matematik tutumuna etkisinin olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Çalışma öntest-sontest desenli yarı deneysel bir çalışmadır. Uygulama süresince matematik dersi deney grubunda hikaye yoluyla anlatılmış, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel sunuş yoluyla öğretim yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, İzmir ili Bornova ilçesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen bir ilkokulun 5. sınıfına devam eden toplam 64 öğrenciyle yürütülmüştür. Verilerin toplanması için matematik başarı testi, matematik kaygı ölçeği ve matematik tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler, araştırmacı tarafından önceden hazırlanan derecelendirme ölçeğine göre puanlandırılmıştır ve analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; hikaye yoluyla öğretimin geleneksel yönteme göre matematik başarısını artırmada ve matematik kaygısını azaltmada etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Matematik tutum puanları her iki grupta da artmış fakat anlamlı bir artış olmamıştır.

The purpose of this research is to determine whether the use of narrative method in primary school 5th grade mathematics class is effective for students' mathematics achievement and mathematics attitude. The study is a semi-experimental study with pretest-posttest design. During the course of the application, the mathematics lesson was explained by using the narrative method in the experimental group and the traditional presentation method was used in the control group. The study was carried out with a total of 64 students who attended the 5th grade of a primary school selected by the purpose sampling method in Bornova district of İzmir province. Mathematical achievement test, mathematics anxiety scale and mathematics attitude scale were used for data collection. The collected data were scored and analyzed according to the scale previously prepared by the researcher. According to the analysis results; it has been found that the training with the help of the narrative method is more successful than the traditional teaching method in increasing the mathematics success and the mathematical attitude according to the traditional method. Math attitude scores increased in both groups but did not increase significantly.
