Özet
Gelinlik, bayanlar için düğünlerin en önemli simgesidir. Kültürümüzü, örf ve adetlerimizi yaşatan gelinlikler geçmişten günümüze değişmiş olsa da gelinliğin anlamı aynı kalmıştır. Bu değişimlerin belirlenmesi ve gelecek nesillere belgelenerek tanıtılması ve bu özel giysilerin yaşatılması gerekmektedir. Araştırmada Hatay İli, İskenderun İlçesinde yaşayanların aile albümlerine ait kırk altı adet fotoğraf incelenmiştir. Bulgularda sunulan fotoğraflarda İskenderun İlçesi geleneksel ve çağdaş gelinliklerinde uygulanan giysi türleri ve kullanılan malzemeler, kullanılan renkler uygulanan beden model ve kesim teknikleri, yaka-kol model ve kesim teknikleri, süslemede seçilen konular ve süsleme teknikleri ile gelinliği tamamlayan aksesuarlar gözlem fişleri aracılığıyla belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın birinci bölümünde; problem, amaç, alt amaçlar, araştırmanın önemi, sayıltılar, sınırlılıklar, tanımlar, ilgili yayın ve araştırmalara yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde; İskenderun ilçesinin tarihi, sosyal yapısı, yaşamı, düğün gelenekleri, Türk kültüründe gelinliğin tarihçesi, İskenderun İlçesi gelinliklerine yer verilmiştir. Bulgular bölümünde, gelinliklerin her özelliği ayrı ayrı gözlem fişleri doğrultusunda detaylandırılmıştır. Tablolarda; gelinliklerde uygulanan giysi türleri, gelinlik fotoğraflarının yıllara göre dağılımı, kullanılan malzemeler, kullanılan renkler, uygulanan beden model ve kesim teknikleri, yaka-kol model ve kesim teknikleri, süslemede seçilen konular ve süsleme teknikleri ile gelinliği tamamlayan aksesuarlar yönünden gelinliğin kendine özgü özelliklerini ortaya koymaya çalışılmıştır. Her tablo, ayrı ayrı yorumlanmış ve elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda sonuca ulaşılmıştır.

According to women wedding dress is the most important figure in weddings. Even if wedding dresses have changed since past days until now, their meaning hasn't. Wedding dresses that keep our culture, customs and traditions alive have undergone a change in course of time. Here, it is aimed to determine this change, to introduce them to future generations by documenting and to keep these special clothes alive. In accordance with this purpose, forty-six photos which belong to family albums of people in İskenderun district of the Hatay province have been examined. In the photos presented in the results section, traditional and contemporary wedding dresses in İskenderun district, their types of clothing and the materials that are used for them, used colors, applied body-model and cutting techniques, collar, sleeve styles and cutting techniques, selected topics and technic for ornamentation and accessories that completed the dress have been identified through observation cards. In the first part of the research, problems, objectives and sub-objectives, the significance of the research, assumptions, definitions, related publications and researches are included. In the second part, history, social structure, life, wedding traditions of İskenderun, the history of wedding dresses in Turkish culture, features of wedding dresses in İskenderun district of the province of Hatay. In the photographs which are presented in the results section, types and styles of the dresses, the materials and colors, size, models, collar and sleeve styles, cutting techniques, subjects of models, ornamentation techniques and complementary accessories used with the traditional and modern wedding dresses in İskenderun district of the province of Hatay are included with observation cards. In the section of tables and indications each feature of the wedding dresses are detailed separately through observation cards. In these tables, characteristics and special features of the wedding dress are evaluated and a conclusions is reached by means of clothes types in wedding dresses, distribution of dress photos by years, materials and colors used, applied body, model and cutting techniques, collar-sleeve styles, the topics and techniqueschosen for ornamentation and complementary accessories. Each table is evaluated separately and the conclusion is reached by means of the data obtained.
