Özet
Foucault, özellikle onun geç dönem derslerinde, Platon'u bilhassa kendine özen göstermek kavramıyla okumaktadır. Bu düşünceye geleneksel Platon okumalarından oldukça farklı bir Platon imgesi sunmaktadır. Bu okumada, kendilik artık ontolojik veya otantik bir benlik arz etmediği için kendilik sorusu tamamen değişir. Şimdi böyle bir kendilik, etkinlik olarak kendiliktir. Bunun Platonik felsefede çok çeşitli sonuçları olacaktır.
Özet (Çeviri)
Foucault reads Plato in particular in his later lessons, especially the concept of the care of the self. It offers to think a distinctly different Plato image from traditional Plato readings. In this reading, the question of the self has changed completely because it is no longer ontological or an authentic self. Now, such a self is the self as activity. This will have a wide variety of outcomes in Platonic philosophy.
