Özet

Gölge fizik disiplininde doğrusal olarak yayılma özelliğine sahip ışığın saydam olmayan bir maddeyle karşılaşması sonucu yoluna devam edemeyerek maddenin arkasında oluşturduğu karanlık bölge olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Gölge sanat disiplininde Dünya'daki bir çok ülkede kendine özgü karakterleriyle birlikte gölge oyunlarında kullanılmaktadır. Biyoloji disiplininde gölge bazı canlıların av-avcı ilişkilerinde kullanılırken coğrafya disiplininde Güneş saatlerinin çalışma prensibinde zamanın ölçülmesinde kullanılmaktadır. Gölgenin zamanın ölçülmesinden yararlanılarak geliştirilen mimari yapılar ise gölgenin mimari disiplini arasında kullanım örneklerindendir. Milattan önce bir çubuğun gölgesinin yaptığı açıdan yararlanılarak Dünya'nın çevresinin ölçülmesi geometri disipliniyle gölge kavramının ilişkisine örnek verilebilir. Gölgenin günlük hayatımızda bir çok disiplinin içinde kullanılması sonucunda gölgenin disiplinlerarası bir konu olduğu söylenebilir. Bu yüzden bu çalışmada gölge konusunun öğretiminde disiplinlerin bir araya getirilmesi yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Disiplinlerin bir araya getirilmesi yaklaşımı bir kavramın öğretiminde tek bir disiplin dışında o kavramın gerçek dünyada ilgili olduğu disiplinlerle de olan bağlamını içeren bir öğretim yaklaşımıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul düzeyindeki beşinci sınıf öğrencilerine uygulanmak üzere gölge konusuna yönelik disiplinlerin bir araya getirilmesi yaklaşımına dayalı bir öğretim tasarlamak, uygulamak, bu öğretimin öğrencilerin zihinsel model ve akademik başarıları üzerine etkilerini değerlendirmek ve bu etkilerin kalıcılığını takip etmektir. Bu çalışma tek grup ön test- son test zayıf deneysel desen ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmaya 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılının bahar döneminde Muğla il merkezinde bulunan bir devlet ortaokulunda beşinci sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim görmekte olan 27 (11 Kız- 16 Erkek) öğrenci katılmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri Gölge Hakkında Zihinsel Modeller Anketi ve Gölge Konusunda Akademik başarı testi ile toplanmıştır. Gölge Konusunda Akademik Başarı Testi'nin analizlerine geçilmeden önce Shapiro- Wilk Normallik Testi ile verilerin normal dağılımı kontrol edilmiştir. Veri setlerinin tamamı normal dağılım gösterdiği için akademik başarı testi bağımlı t-test ile analiz edilmiştir. Gölge Hakkında Zihinsel Modeller Anketi'nin analizinde her soru bilimsel, sentez ve ilkel modellere kategorilendirilerek analiz edilmiştir. Sentez ve ilkel modeller daha sonra alt kategorilere ayrılmıştır ve alt kategorilerin frekans ve yüzdeleri tablolaştırılmıştır. Gölge konusuna yönelik gerçekleştirilmiş olan disiplinlerin bir araya getirilmesi yaklaşımına dayalı öğretimin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve zihinsel modellerine olumlu etkilerinin olduğu ve bu etkilerin kalıcı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Gölge konusunun öğretiminde disiplinlerin bir araya getirilmesi yaklaşımına dayalı öğretimin uygulanması önerilmiştir.

Shadow is defined as the dark area formed behind the matter by not being able to continue its path as a result of the fact that the light which has the feature of spreading linearly in the discipline of physics meets with a non-transparent substance. According to art discipline In many countries of the world, shadow is used in shadow games with its own characters. In the discipline of biology, shadow is used in hunting-hunter relations of some living beings. According to geography discipline ; shadow is used to measure the time in the working principle of the solar clocks.The architectural structures developed by taking advantage of the time measurement of the shadow are examples of usage among the architectural discipline of the shadow. An example of the relationship between the discipline of geometry and the concept of shadow can be given as a measure of the Earth's environment by taking advantage of the shadow of a stick before Christ. It can be said that the shadow is an interdisciplinary subject as a result of the use of shadow in many disciplines in our daily lives. Therefore, in this study, disciplinary approach is used in teaching shadow subjects. The approach of bringing together disciplines is a teaching approach that involves the context of a concept with disciplines in which the concept is related to the real world, except for a single discipline. The aim of this study is to design and implement an instruction based on the approach of bringing together the disciplines related to the shadow subject in order to be applied to the fifth grade students at the secondary school level and to evaluate the effects of this teaching on the mental models and academic achievements of the students and to monitor the persistence of these effects. This study was carried out with weak experimental design of single group pre-test-post test. In the spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year, 27 (11 Female-16 Male) students attending fifth grade in a state secondary school in the city center of Muğla participate. The data of the study were collected by using the mental models questionnaire about Shadow and the academic achievement test about Shadow. The Shapiro-Wilk Normality Test and the normal distribution of the data were checked prior to the analysis of the Academic Achievement Test.As all of the data sets were normally so the academic achievement test was analyzed by the dependent t-test. When come to Analysis of the Mental Models Question about Shadow each question was analyzed by categorizing scientific, synthesis and primitive models. Synthesis and primitive models were then subdivided into subcategories and the frequency and percentages of subcategories were tabulated.It has been concluded that teaching based on the discovery of disciplines related to the topic of shadow has positive effects on students' academic success and mental models and these effects are permanent.It has been proposed to apply teaching based on the disciplinary approach to teaching the subject of shadow.
