Özet
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı yükseköğretime bağlı bir devlet üniversitesinin yabancı dil hazırlık okulunda sunulan İngilizce eğitimine dair yaşanan sorunların Tasarımsal Düşünce yaklaşımıyla derinlemesine incelenmesi, ortaya çıkarılması ve söz konusu sorunlara AUÖ boyutları çerçevesinde çözüm önerileri sunarak bir AUÖ aracılığıyla yabancı dil olarak İngilizce eğitimi modeli önerisi tasarlamaktır. Araştırmanın kuramsal dayanağını Tasarımsal Düşünce yaklaşımı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma katılımcıları örneklemi ve yöntem seçimlerinde bu yaklaşım yol gösterici olmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında Yükseköğretim kurumuna bağlı yabancı dil olarak İngilizce eğitimi sağlayan bir hazırlık okulunun tüm paydaşlarının ve AUÖ alanında alan uzmanları ile yabancı dil olarak İngilizce eğitimi alanında konu uzmanlarının görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Nitel bir durum çalışması olarak tasarlanan bu çalışma 4 aşamada oluşmaktadır. Birinci aşamada sorun kaynağı olarak seçilen kurumda yer alan tüm paydaşların görüşlerini almak için bireysel görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. İkinci aşamada ilk aşamada elde edilen veriler konu ve alan uzmanlarına yönlendirilmiştir. Üçüncü aşamada konu ve alan uzmanlarından elde edilen veriler sorun kaynağında yer alan paydaşların onayına çevrimiçi anket aracılığı ile sunularak görüşleri alınmıştır. Dördüncü ve son aşamada ise üçüncü aşama sonucu elde edilen veriler ışığında bir kontrol listesi görevini yerine getirmesi amacıyla bir matris geliştitilerek yabancı dil olarak İngilizce eğitimi sağlayan ya da sağlayacak olan kurumlara model önerisinde bulunulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen sonuçlar şu şekildedir: Öğrenmenin sadece sınıf içinde değil aynı zamanda sınıf dışında da olabileceği benimsenmelidir. Kurumlar harmanlanmış bir sistem sunabilmek için ilgili yatırımları yapmalı ve bu sistemlerin sürdürülebilirliği için gerekli adımları atmalıdır. Dijital kaynak müfredat içerisinde yer bulmalı ve eğitim öğretim etkinlikleri bu kaynaklar aracılığı ile çeşitlendirilmelidir. Sosyal ağlar, sanal sınıflar gibi araçlarla kurum içi iletişim artırılmalıdır. Oyunlaştırma gibi unsurlar işe koşularak farklı değerlendirme yöntemleri işe koşulmalıdır. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar yüz yüze yabancı dil olarak İngilizce eğitimi sağlayan yükseköğretime bağlı kurumların dijitalleştirilmesinde yol gösterici ve yardımcı olacaktır.

The main objective of this study is to develop an in-depth examination of the problems of English language education offered in a foreign language preparatory school of tertiary education in a foreign language preparatory school and to develop a model of English education model as a foreign language through an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) by presenting solutions to these problems in the context of the ODL dimensions. The theoretical basis of the research is constituted by Design Thinking. This approach was instrumental in the selection of participants and method selection. Within the scope of the study, the opinions of all the stakeholders of a preparatory school which provides English language education as a foreign language affiliated to the higher education institution and field experts in the field of ODL and the subject experts in the field of English education as a foreign language were consulted. This study, which is designed as a qualitative case study, consists of 4 stages. In the first phase, individual interviews were conducted to get the opinions of all the stakeholders in the institution chosen as the source of the problem. In the second stage, the data obtained in the first stage were directed to the subject and field experts. In the third stage, the data obtained from the subject and field experts were presented to the approval of the stakeholders involved in the problem source via an online questionnaire and their opinions were received. In the fourth and last stage, a model has been proposed to the institutions which will provide or providing English as a foreign language by developing a matrix in order to perform a checklist in the light of the data obtained from the third stage. The results of the study are as follows: It should be assumed that learning can be not only within the classroom but also outside the classroom. In order to provide a blended system, institutions should make the relevant investments and take the necessary steps for the sustainability of these systems. Digital resources should be included in the curriculumn and educational activities should be diversified through these resources. In-house communication should be increased through tools such as social networks and virtual classes. Different assessment methods should be employed by recruiting elements such as gamification. The results of the study will help guide the digitization of higher education institutions providing face to face English as a foreign language.
