SUMMARY Remziye EGE,“A Study About the Religious and Moral Motifs in the Books Prepared for Pre-school Children”Post Graduate Thesis (Consultant: Doç. Dr. Mualla SELÇUK). V, 90 Pre-school period which includes the period up to the start of compulsory education, is import in the education of child. In this period when the will and desire of the child for learning is maximum, the most effective way of preparing them to life is the habit of reading. In the present work, we analyze the deductive books prepared for pre-school children, in terms of the moral and religious concepts they contain. Our study comsists of five chapters including introduction and conclusion. On our study we tried to find out how convenient the books are in terms of content and form. Besides we aimed to reveal out the correlation between these motifs and the development of child. Finally, it was important for us to determine how effective these motifs were in child's acquiring his environment, in setting good relations with other. At the beginning of out study, we were fully aware of the fact the formation of character, started and the foundations of basic attitudes and behaviours were laid, in this period. We assumed that in this context, the books had an important role and that, they might well contribute to the development of children. As a result, we saw that our findings supported our hypothesis in a great deal.
