Özet
Bu çalışma sinema olgusunu sosyolojinin bakış açılan ve yöntemleri ile ele almaktadır. 19. yüzyılda önce teknolojik bir gelişme olarak bilimsel, sonraları endüstriyel bir hareketlenme olarak ekonomik yönüyle yaşantımıza giren sinema, gün geçtikçe yeni biçimler kazanmıştır. Sinema bir yandan çağdaş toplumda sanatsal anlatım biçimlerine yeni olanaklar yaratmış, öte yandan günümüz bireyi için psikolojik doyum sağlama kanallarından biri haline gelmiştir. Ancak sinemanın bizim için önemle ele alınacak yönü, toplumsal alanda oynadığı rollerle ilgilidir. Günümüz toplumlarında birey yepyeni biçimlerle ele alınırken, sosyoloji toplumsal değişimin bu biçimine ve 'birey-topum' ilişkileri üzerine yoğunlaşan kuramsal çalışmalar yapmaktadır. Bu kuramsal yaklaşımlar temelinde, bireyin kendi toplumuyla ve gerçeklikle ilişkisi göz önünde tutularak sinema olgusu incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Sinema günümüzde toplumsal yapıda ortaya çıkan bazı ihtiyaçlara karşılık verecek bir biçim almış, sosyal işlevlere sahip bir olgudur. Bu çalışmada sinema olgusu kurumsallaşma süreçleri çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir. Bu açıdan baktığımızda sinemanın bir türü olan“belgesel sinema”diğer türlerden farklı olarak sinemanın sosyal işlevini dolaysız yollardan yerine getiren bir türdür. Öte yandan,“gerçeğin dramatik yorumlanışı”,“gerçeğin yeniden yaratılışı”olarak belgesel filmler gerçeklikle arasına mesafeler konmuş günümüz bireyi için bir alternatif olarak görülebilir. Belgesel film toplumda bilginin biriktirilmesi ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması, önemli olguların saptanması ve geniş kitlelere iletilmesi, her yaştan kişilere yönelik ve yaygın bir eğitimi gerçekleşebilmesi ve çoğu zaman örtük bir işlev olarak karşımıza çıkan kitleleri aynı düşünce sistemi doğrultusunda davranmaya yönelten propaganda için önemli bir araç olarak karşımıza çıkar.Bu özellikleri ilebelgeseller, gelişmekte olan toplumların ilerlemelerinde önemli rol oynayabilmektedirler. Yaygın olarak izlenebilen, çok sayıda kişiye aynı anda ulaşabilme olanağına sahip ve eğlendirici özelliği de olan bu araçtan Türkiye de pek çok biçimde yararlanması gereken ülkeler arasındadır. Bu gerekçe ile çalışmamızda Türk sinemasının ve Türk belgesel filmciliğinin gelişmesi ve bu günkü durumu ele alınmaktadır. Belgesel filmciliğimizin tarihi, ülkenin sinematograf ile tanışmasından bu.güne kadarki gelişmelerle anlatılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Belgesel film çalışması yapan kurum ve kuruluşlarla, TRT kurumunun yaklaşımı, devletin ve resmi ideolojinin bu konudaki tavrını ve rolünü belirleyebilmek için özel olarak ele alınmıştır. Ümit ediyoruz ki bu çalışma ülkemizde belgesel filmler üreten kişilere, bu kişilere olanak sağlayabilecek kurum ve kuruluşlara, temel eğitim veren okullarla akademik çalışmaya yönelik üniversitelere belgesel filmin önemini ve pek çok olanağa bir arada sahip olan bu araçtan çeşitli biçimlerde yararlanabileceklerini bir kez daha hatırlatsın.

This study deals with the phenomenan of cinema from a sociological points of view. In 19th century, cinema entered into our lives first, scientifically as a technological development and later economically as an industrial mobility and it has gained new forms in time. In modern society, it has created new opportunities for artistic expression forms, moreover, it has become one of the ways of psychological saturation for today's individual. However, the important aspect of cinema, that is going to be examined in this research, is about the role of cinema in social domain. While individual is examined in new forms in today's societies, sociology makes studies, which concentrates on this form of social change and relations of individual and society. The fact of cinema is tried to be examined by taking into consideration individual's relation with his society and with reality on the base of these theoretical approaches. In this study, the fact of cinema is evaluated within the frame of institutionalization process. When it is considered from these points“documentary cinema”which is a form of cinema, appears with its special characteristics different from other forms. Documentary cinema is a form that fullfills the social function of cinema directly. Besides, being“dramatic interpretation of reality”,“recreation of reality”, the documentary cinema can be viewed as an alternative for today's individual who is put into a distance with reality. The documentary film in society appears as an important means in accumulation of information and presentation of this information to next generations, determination of important facts and conveying it to broad masses, achieving a widespread education for people of any age and generally it is a propoganda which appears as an implicit function leading masses to behave in the direction of same thinking pattern.With these characteristics, documentary films are able to play an important role in the progress of developing counties. Turkey is among the countries that have to advance from this tool which has the possibility to reach many people at the same time, to be watched commonly and which has the characteristic of entertaining. Because of this reason, in this study, the development of Turkish cinema and Turkish documenteary film industry and their statues today are being examined. History of Turkish documentary film industry is tried to be explained by the developments from the time that nation met cinematography uptill today. Institutions and enterprises that study on documentary film and the approach of TRT are examined specially, to determine the attitude of government and formal ideology towards this subject. We wish that this study will be usefiill to remind the importance of documentary film and opportunities of using this tool in many ways, to people who are making documentary films; institutions and establishments that can support these people; schools giving basic education and universities making academical studies.
