Özet (Çeviri)

Alcohol-related disorders affect individuals' psychological and physiological wellbeing and decrease individual's life quality. Chronic disorders like alcohol problems have high relapse possibilities (Brownell et al., 1986). Recently, there are lots of treatment techniques for individuals with alcohol- related disorders; however, just a few of them focus on maintenance of abstinence. This literature review examined treatments that offer people opportunity for relapse prevention after their initial treatments. These relapse prevention strategies were modified by basic concepts of cognitive-behavioral model and motivation model. For this reason, types of alcohol- related disorders, general information about relapse prevention, models and reasons of relapse were also discussed in this review. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral couple therapy (BCT), mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MRBP) approach and 12 step recovery program for alcoholic anonymous were evaluated with their strategies. Accordingly, this literature review focused on these four therapies, how they work and how they affect on relapse prevention. The results showed that each of them has an own strength for maintenance of well-being among people with alcohol- related disorders and to prevent relapse, it is important to follow-up individuals' well-being after their initial treatments.
