Özet
Bu çalışmada Sultan II. Bayezid'in oğlu ve Sultan Selim'in ağabeyi Şehzade Korkut'un hayatı bir vaka çerçevesinde ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma esas itibariyle arşiv belgeleri ve Osmanlı kroniklerinden yararlanılarak beş bölüm halinde ele alınmıştır. Ana kaynakların yanında yerli ve yabancı araştırma-inceleme eserlerde incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın özünü Şehzade Korkut'un hayatı ve tahtı kaybeden Osmanlı Klasik Dönemi şehzadelerinin uğradığı hazin akıbete maruz kalan şehzadenin katline giden süreç oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca bu çalışma Şehzade Korkut'un hayatı ve akıbeti üzerinden Klasik Dönem Şehzadelik Kurumu'nun açıklanmasına olanak sağlamaktadır. Araştırmanın birinci bölümünde konunun anlaşılması için şehzadelik kurumu ve Osmanlı veraset usulü ile şehzade katilleri üzerinde durularak çalışmanın temelini oluşturan hakimiyet, şehzadelik ve katil meselesine değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Bayezid'in hayatta kalan şehzadeleri Selim, Ahmed, Korkut arasındaki taht kavgalarının başladığı döneme kadar Korkut'un doğumu, sünneti, tahta vekaleti ve sancak beylikleri ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölüm özellikle Selim'in tahta çıkışı ile sonuçlanan hadiselerin içerisinde Şehzade Korkut'un taht yarışında kimi girişimleriyle nasıl var olmaya çalıştığı kardeşleri arasında etkisiz bir siyaset izlemesine rağmen tahta sahip olmak için aradığı yollar, şehzadenin katlinin asıl sebebi-tahtı kaybetmesi-ve bu süreçte yaşanan hadiseler üzerinde durulmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde tahtı kardeşine kaptıran şehzadenin hayatta kalmak için verdiği mücadele ve katline giden süreç ele alınmıştır. Beşinci bölümde ise sadece bir devlet adamı görünümü çizmeyen alim ve şairlik yönleriyle de renkli bir kişiliğe sahip olan şehzadenin şahsiyeti, ilmi ve edebi yönüne yer verilmektedir. Araştırmanın son kısmını teşkil eden“Sonuç”ta ise çalışmanın değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.

In this study, Sultan II. Bayezid's son and Sultan Selim's older brother Şehzade (Sultan's son, prince etc.) Korkut's life wasis triedto be revealed within the framework of a case. As a matter of fact, there searchishandled in five section sbyusing archival documents and Ottoman Chronicles. In addition to the main sources, localandand foreign research-studies were alsoexamined. The essence of this work is to describe the life of Şehzade Korkut and the process leading to the murder of şehzade, who was subjected to the sad fate suffered by the Ottoman Classical period şehzade(s) who lost the throne. In addition, this study provides the opportunity to explain the concept of Classical Period şehzade(s) through the life and fate of Şehzade Korkut. In the first part of the study, the concept of şehzade and killers of şehzade(s) with the Ottoman succession method is emphasized in order to understand the subject, and the sovereignty, princes and murderers, which form the basis of the study, are mentioned. In the second chapter, the birth, Sunnah, power of attorney and Sanjak principalities of Korkut are discussed until the beginning of the throne fights between the surviving şehzade(s) of Bayezid, namely Selim, Ahmed and Korkut. The third chapter focuses on how Şehzade Korkut tried to exist with some of his attempts in the race for the throne, the ways he sought to have the throne despite following an ineffective policy among his brothers, the main reason for the murder of şehzade-the loss of the throne-and the events that occurred in this process, especiallyt he events that resulted in Selim's ascension to the throne. In the fourth chapter, the struggle for survival of the prince who lost the throne to his brother and the process leading to his murder are discussed. In the fifth chapter, the personality, scientific and literary aspects of the şehzade, who does not only appear as a statesman, but also has a colorful personality with his scholar and poetry aspects, are included. In the“Conclusion”, which is the last part of the study, thestudyis generally disscussed and evaluated.
