Özet
Ahlak gelişimi ergenlik döneminin önemli gelişim alanlardan biri olarak nitelendirilmektedir. Bu alanla ilgili farklı kuramlar çerçevesinde birçok araştırma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise fantastik romanların ahlak gelişimi üzerindeki etkileri Lawrence Kohlberg'in Bilişsel Ahlak Gelişimi kuramı açısından incelenmiştir. Örneklem olarak J.K. Rowling'in kaleme aldığı Harry Potter serisi ele alınmıştır. Kohlberg'in altı farklı evreden oluşan kuramı ile serideki karakter ve olay örgüleri eşleştirilerek inceleme yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak seride ergenlerin ahlak gelişimlerini destekleyebilecek örneklerin bulunduğu ve öğretmenlerin bibliyoterapi yöntemi kullanarak ergenlerin ahlak gelişimlerini fantastik edebiyat yardımı ile destekleyebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Moral development is regarded as one of the important developmental milestones of adolescence period. There are a lot of research which studies this topic with different theories. In this thesis, the effect of fantasy novels on the moral development examined with Lawrence Kohlberg's cognitive theory of moral development. To do that, Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling is used as the sample of the research. Kohlbergs's theory of six stages are matched with characters and events from the books. As a result, it has been concluded that there are useful examples in the books to support the moral development of adolescents and teachers can encourage the moral development of adolescents with fantasy literature by using the bibliotherapy method.
