Özet
Sanat entegrasyonu, sanatın diğer disiplin alanlarıyla birleştirilip yaratıcı süreçlerle zenginleştirilerek anlamlı öğrenmenin gerçekleştirildiği bir öğretim yaklaşımıdır. Birleştirilen disiplinlere ait konu ve kavramların sanatsal içerikli uygulamalar yolu ile öğrenciye aktarıldığı sanat entegrasyonu yöntemi, iki veya daha fazla disiplin alanı arasında gerçekleştirilebilir. Bu araştırma görsel materyallerin en çok kullanıldığı Fen Bilimleri dersi ile Görsel Sanatlar dersinin birleştirilmesinin öğrencinin başarısına etkisini ölçerken, katılımcı öğrenci ve öğretmenin sanat entegrasyonu sürecine dair duygu, düşünce ve görüşlerini tespit etmek üzerine planlanmıştır. Çalışma 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı ikinci döneminde Samsun ili, Çarşamba ilçesine bağlı bir devlet okulunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Fen Bilimleri dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen uygulama 7 hafta sürmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 20'si deney, 20'si kontrol grubu olmak üzere 5. sınıfta öğrenim gören 40 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Sanat Entegrasyonu yönteminin, ortaokul 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen Bilimleri ve Görsel Sanatlar dersleri için belirlenen program hedeflerine ulaşmaları üzerindeki etkisini ve öğrencilerin bu uygulama ile ilgili görüş ve deneyimlerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışma, nicel ve nitel verilerin birlikte kullanıldığı bir karma yöntem araştırması olarak tasarlanmıştır. Verilerden elde edilen bulgular Sanat Entegrasyonu yönteminin öğrencinin başarısını anlamlı düzeyde artırdığını ve öğrencilerin bu sürece karşı olumlu tutum ve duygular geliştirdiklerini göstermektedir. Uygulama öğretmeni ile yapılan görüşmeler, Sanat Entegrasyonu yönteminin öğrenciler üzerinde derse karşı motivasyonu ve başarı düzeyini artırdığı yönündedir. Araştırma sonucunda tespit edilen bulgulardan yola çıkarak, sanatın müfredattaki diğer ders alanlarının öğretimine ve öğrenci başarısına katkı sağlayacağı çalışmalar için eğitimcilere, Sanat Entegrasyonu yönteminin tanıtılması, anlaşılması ve eğitim müfredatlarında hak ettiği yeri alması için eğitim politikalarını düzenleyenlere çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Art integration is a teaching approach in which meaningful learning is realized by combining art with other disciplines and enriching it with creative processes. The Art Integration method, where subjects and concepts belonging to the combined disciplines are transferred to the students through artistic applications, can be put into practice between two or more disciplines. The purpose of this research measures the effect of the integration of Science and Visual Arts course, on which visual materials are predominantly used, on student success besides determining the feelings, thoughts and opinions of the participating students and teacher concerning the art integration process. This research was carried out on the second semester of the school year 2018-2019 in a public school in the Çarşamba District of Samsun. The research lasted approximately for 7 weeks within the scope of Science lessons. The study group of the research consists of 40 students in the 5th grade, 20 of whom are the experimental group while the rest make up the control group. This study, which aims at determining the effect of the method of art integration on the achievement of the program goals set for 5th grade students of science and visual arts lessons, as well as the opinions and experiences of teachers and students regarding this application, is designed as a mixed method research in which quantitative and qualitative data are used together. Findings from the data display that the method of art integration significantly increases the student's success rate and that the students develop positive attitudes and emotions towards this process. Interviews with the application teacher have demonstrated that the method of art integration improves the motivation and achievement level of the students towards the lesson. Based on the findings determined as a result of the research, educators have been offered suggestions for studies in which art will contribute to the teaching of other subject areas in the curriculum and student achievement. Beside this, in order to introduce the Art Integration method and for it to take its rightful place in educational curricula certain suggestions were made to policy makers.
