Özet

Bu tez çalışmasının amacı, eşi vefat etmiş olan kadınların eşlerini kaybettikten sonra psikolojik, ekonomik, sosyo-kültürel ve toplumsal olarak yaşamış oldukları sorunları tespit etmektir. Yaşadıkları bu sorunlar ile nasıl başa çıktıklarını, toplumun temel yapı taşı olan ve toplumu ayakta tutan aile kurumunun zedelenmemesi için verdikleri mücadeleleri gözler önüne sermektir. Çalışmamız iki aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşaması kuramsal çerçeve adı altında konunun temel kavramlarını açıklamaya yönelik olup ikinci aşaması ise, saha çalışması ve bulgulardan oluşmaktadır. Kavramsal çerçeve kısmında aile kavramı, evlilik kavramının tanımları yapılarak, aile teorilerinden bahsedilmiştir. Ayrıca evliliğin sona ermesi ile birlikte ortaya çıkan yeni aile modelleri, toplumsal cinsiyet ile toplumda ki dul kadın algısı, eşi vefat eden kadınların sorunları ve bu sorunlar için çeşitli ülkelerde ve Türkiye'de uygulanan sosyal destek politikaları gibi konulara yer verilmiştir. Sorgun ilçesinde yaşayan eşi vefat etmiş 103 kadından oluşan örneklem grubu ile tek tek görüşme yapılarak 48 soruluk anket çalışmasını cevaplandırmaları sağlanmıştır. Yapılan anket çalışmasında yaş, öğrenim durumu, eşin ne zaman ve hangi sebeple kaybedildiği, eş kaybından sonra yaşanılan sorunlar ile bu sorunların ortadan kalkması için gerekli olan ihtiyaçlardan oluşan sorular ele alınmıştır. Yapılan çalışmaların sonuçlarına göre; eşleri vefat eden kadınların eş kaybı sonrasında yaşamış oldukları sorunlar önem sırasına göre en fazla maddi sıkıntılar, çocuklarına tek başına yetememek ve psikolojik sıkıntılar olarak tespit edilmiş ancak buna rağmen çocuklarından ve geçmişte yaşamış oldukları tecrübelerden dolayı yeniden evliliği düşünmedikleri gözlemlenmiştir. Bu sorunların ortadan kalkması için duyulan ihtiyaçlar sırasıyla; parasal destek, psikolojik destek, iş bulma konusunda yardım ve son olarak çocukların eğitimine katkı olarak ifade edilmektedir.

The aim of this thesis is to determine the psychological, economic, socio-cultural and social problems that widowed women experienced after they lost their husbands. It aims to reveal how they coped with these problems they experienced, and their struggles in order not to damage their family institution, which is the basic building block of the society and keeps the society alive. Our study consistes of two stages. The first stage aims at explaining the basic concepts of the subject under the heading of theoretical framework, and the second stage consistes of fieldwork and findings. In the conceptual framework part, the concept of family and the concept of marriage were defined, and family theories were mentioned. In addition, such issues as the new family models emerging as a result of the termination of the marriage, social gender and the perception of widows in society, the problems of women whose husbands passed away, and social support policies implemented in various countries and in Turkey for this problem were addressed. The sample group consisting of 103 widowed women living in Sorgun district was interviewed one by one, and they were asked to answer the 48-question questionnaire. In the survey study, the questions consisting of age, education status, when and why the spouse was lost, problems experienced after the loss of spouse and the needs required to eliminate these problems were discussed. According to the results of the study conducted, the problems experienced by the women whose husbands passed away after the loss of their spouses were determined to be, in order of importance, financial problems, inability to respond to the needs of their children on their own, and psychological problems, but it was observed that despite these problems, they did not think of remarrying on account of their children and past experiences. The needs felt to overcome these problems were reported to be financial support, psychological support, assistance in finding a job, and finally, contribution to the education of children, respectively.
