Özet
British literature has been greatly inspired and influenced by motives from Greek mythology. Many famous classics, such as Chaucer, Milton, Shakespeare Or Lord Tennyson, incorporated motives and references from Greek mythology In their works. One of the myths that has been deeply rooted in the imagination and works of British writers is the story from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. In modern literature, James Joyce sets Ulysses, which is the Latinised name of Odyssey, in modern-day Dublin. There are number of parallels between Joyce's Masterpiece and the ancient poem, starting from their structure, with 18 chapters of Ulysses corresponding to 18 episodes of Homer's Odyssey, to the three main characters, Leopold Bloom, Molly Bloom and Stephen Dedalus, corresponding to Odysseus, Penelope and Telemachus respectively. we remember that scene from a cartoon series in which the master of the ship asks his men to tie him to the ship so that he will not be swayed by the singing of the witches when they pass an enchanted island where the nymphs sing and all those who hear her singing enchant him and bring them back to them . or those exotic plants discovered by adventurers while roaming the land Strange for them to eat them to cause them a hysterical attack of continuous laughter. And many other stories that we later discover that the stories and legends of the world written by international writers. And that even as we follow a series of children, we communicate with a global culture.
