Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, modern edebiyatta ilk örneklerini verip postmodern edebiyatta doruk noktasına ulaşan“bilinç akışı”tekniğinin tarihsel sürecini iki ülke edebiyatı açısından genetik ve tipolojik karşılaştırma yöntemiyle, dönemsel bir çerçevede ve toplumsal olayları göz önünde bulundurarak incelemektir. Çalışmanın giriş kısmı, bilinç akışı tekniğinin kısa bir tanımından sonra“bilinç”kavramının incelenmesiyle başlayacaktır.“Bilinç”kavramının tarihsel süreçte nasıl anlaşıldığına bakılacak, bununla birlikte gelişen“bilinçaltı”kavramı da irdelenecektir. Sonrasında edebiyatta bilinç akışı tekniğinin uygulanış süreci incelenecek, bu süreci hazırlayan tarihsel olaylara değinilecek; modern edebiyata kadar romanın durumuyla tarihsel gelişiminden bahsedilecek ve bu sürece katkısı olduğu düşünülen birtakım metin örnekleri verilecektir. Çalışmanın ana kısmında, modernist dönemde İrlanda ve Türk edebiyatında bilinç akışı tekniğinin kullanıldığı ilk ürünlerin anlatım teknikleri incelenecektir. Amaç tekniğin tarihsel sürecini incelemek olduğundan, birbirine yakın dönemlerde eser veren iki yazarın, Samuel Beckett'ın Üçleme'si ile Yusuf Atılgan'ın Aylak Adam ve Anayurt Oteli romanları ana odağa alınacaktır. Bu yazarlara değinmeden önce, bu yazarlarla bağdaştırılabilecek ve bilinç akışı tekniğini farklı yöntemlerle kullanmış olan James Joyce ve Oğuz Atay'a değinilecektir. Çalışmada, modernist dönemde Türk edebiyatının İrlanda edebiyatından etkilendiği alanlara ve İrlanda edebiyatının modernist dönemdeki yerine vurgu yapılmaktadır.

The aim of the study is to examine the historical process of the“stream of consciousness”technique, which gave its first examples in modern literature and reached its peak in postmodern literature, in terms of the literature of the two countries with a genetic and typological comparison method, in a periodical framework and considering social events. The introductory part of the study will begin with a brief description of the stream of consciousness technique, followed by an examination of the concept of“consciousness”. It will be examined how the concept of“consciousness”was understood in the historical process, and the concept of“subconsciousness”that developed along with this will be examined. Afterwards, the application process of the stream of consciousness technique in literature will be examined and the historical events that prepared this process will be mentioned. The situation and historical development of the novel until modern literature will be mentioned and some text examples that are thought to contribute to this process will be given. In the main part of the study, the narrative techniques of the first products in which the stream of consciousness technique was used in Irish and Turkish literature in the modernist period will be examined. Since the aim is to examine the historical process of technique, two authors who wrote works in close periods, Samuel Beckett and Yusuf Atılgan and their novels, will be the main focus. Before mentioning these authors, James Joyce and Oğuz Atay, who can be associated with these authors and who used the stream of consciousness technique in different ways, will be mentioned. In the study, the areas where Turkish literature was influenced by Irish literature in the modernist period and the place of Irish literature in the modernist period are emphasized.
