Özet

Toplumsal cinsiyet ve eğitim çok geniş kapsamlı bir konudur. Bu araştırmada, sınıf öğretmenlerinin toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliklerine dair bakış açılarının dersliklere ve eğitim-öğretim süreçlerine yansımaları çeşitli yaklaşımlarla ortaya konmuştur. Sınıf öğretmenlerinin davranış, görüş ve tutumlarına sebep olan etmenler değerlendirilmiştir. Eğitimde cinsiyetçiliğin konumlanışına dair ancak deneyimlerin ortaya çıkarılması ile görülecek sorunlara işaret edilmiştir. Çalışma, hem ampirik hem de teorik bilgiler ile meydana gelmiştir. Araştırmacının kendi mesleki gözlem ve deneyimleri ile de desteklenen bu çalışmada, saptanan durumlara dair çözüm önerileri ile uygulamaya dönük problemlerin giderilmesine katkı sağlanması hedeflenmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde on kişilik sınıf öğretmeni grubu ile yarı yapılandırılmış derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Öğretmenlere nitel araştırma yöntemine dayalı, on dokuz adet görüşme sorusu yöneltilmiştir. Görüşmecilerle iletişimde ve tüm araştırma sürecinde feminist metodolojiye uygun bir araştırma yürütülmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda okul ortamlarının ve öğretmenlerin cinsiyetçiliği yeniden üretmeye katkıları olduğu sonucuna erişilmiştir. Çalışmada, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğine dair katılımcı öğretmenlerin farkındalık seviyeleri ifadeleri ile ortaya konmuştur. Ancak, farkındalıkları her ne durumda olursa olsun, öğretmenlerin cinsiyetçilik ile mücadele kapsamında okul ortamlarında eylemsel bir çaba içinde olmadıkları bu araştırma ile görünür kılınmıştır. Buna rağmen çalışmada, katılımcı tüm öğretmenlerin eğitim ve toplumsal cinsiyet ile ilgili eğitimler aracılığı ile bilinç yükseltmeye istekli olduklarına dair ifadelerine de yer verilmiştir. Çalışmada, öğretmenlerin ifadelerinden yola çıkarak ortaya konan deneyim, davranış ve tutumları araştırmanın kuramsal çerçevesi ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Cam tavan, değerler eğitimi, okullardaki cinsiyetçi iş bölümleri, dersliklerdeki cinsiyetçilik, ders kitapları, gizli müfredat, eğitim yönetimlerinin ve politikalarının toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğine dair körlükleri; toplumsal cinsiyet ve eğitime dair kuramlar, feminist pedagoji, eğitimde yeniden üretim teorileri ile desteklenerek irdelenmiştir.

Gender and education is a very broad topic. In this study, the reflections of classroom teachers' perspectives on gender inequalities on classrooms and education-teaching processes have been revealed with various approaches. The factors causing the behavior, views and attitudes of classroom teachers were evaluated. Problems regarding the positioning of sexism in education, which can only be seen by revealing the experiences, were pointed out. The study has occurred with both empirical and theoretical knowledge. In this study, which is also supported by the researcher's professional observations and experiences, İt is aimed to contribute to the elimination of practical problems with solution suggestions for the identified situations. During the research process, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with ten classroom teachers. Twenty interview questions based on qualitative research method were asked to teachers. The research was tried to be carried out in accordance with the feminist methodology in communication with the interviewers and in the whole research process. As a result of the research, it was concluded that school environments and teachers contributed to reproducing sexism. In the study, the level of awareness of participating teachers regarding gender inequality was revealed through their discourse. However, at which level their awareness may be, it has been made clear with this research that teachers do not make an operational effort in school environments within the scope of combating sexism. Nevertheless, in the study, the statements of all participating teachers about their willingness to raise awareness through education and gender-related trainings were included. In the study, the experiences, behaviors and attitudes revealed by the teachers' expressions were associated with the theoretical framework of the research. Glass ceiling, education of values, sexist division of labor in schools, sexism in classrooms, textbooks, hidden curriculum, blindness of education policies regarding gender inequality; have been examined supported by the theories on gender and education, theories of reproduction in education and feminist pedagogy.
