METRO AND METRO CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES OF THE UNDERGROUND RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION (M. Sc. Thesis) Mehrdad M. K SHİRAZİ GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY September 1997 ABSTRACT In this thesis, Metro and Metro construction techniques of the underground railway transportation systems at Turkey have been examined in general. Existing situation of this system at Turkey as well as at the other countries have been explained Tunnel construction technique in this system has been researched and basic tunnel boring methods have been explained. Istanbul and Ankara metro constructions have been examined and metro construction techniques have been explained. Technical information which is necessary to decide on tunnel construction method have been given. The support systems in the tunnel have been examined and suitability of tunnel boring methods at Ankara and Istanbul metro projects have been discussed accordingly and technical precautions have been explained through the examples. TÜRKİYE ZEMİN AYRIMLI TOPLU TAŞIM SİSTEMLERİNDEN METRO VE METRO SİSTEMİNİN İNŞAAT TEKNİKLERİ (Yüksek Lisans Tezi) Mehrdad M.K SHİRAZİ GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN BİLİMLERİ ENSTİTÜSÜ Eylül 1997 ÖZET Bu tez çalışmasında.Türkiye zemin ayrımlı toplu taşım sistemlerinden metro ve metro inşaat teknikleri genel olarak incelenmiştir. Bu sistemin Türkiye'deki durumu ile diğer ülkelerdeki durumu açıklanmıştır. Sistem içerisinde yapımı kaçınılmaz olan tünel inşaat tekniği araştırılmış, tünel açma yönteminin esasları anlatılmıştır. İstanbul ve Ankara metro inşaatları incelenerek metro yapım tekniği anlatılmıştır. Özellikle tünel kazı metodlarının seçimiyle ilgili karar verme yolunda teknik bilgiler verilmiştir. Tünelde sağlamlaştırma yöntemleri ele alınıp bu bilgiler ışığında Ankara ve istanbul metrolarındaki tünel açma metodlarının uygunluğu tartışılmış ve alınan bir dizi teknik önlem örneklerle anlatılmıştır.
